Swami Rama : By controlling his breathing and entering a state, Swami Rama caused a temperature change of his skin on one palm.  He also managed to raise heart rate, at will, from 70 to 300 beats per minute, and he managed to stop his heartbeat for 17 seconds (Elmer, 1977).

Totally agree! Laundry, cleaning utensils, gardening all wonderful tasks to get a mental break!

Modern advice is to outsource everything. Groceries, driving, cooking, cleaning, laundry,... But we know it's biologically impossible to be productive and 'on' every single waking hour. So why not use chores as a way to move your body and rest your brain? (and save some $$!)

This is depressing: Say we spend 2 hrs of 'wasted time' per day on our phones (and that's probably being kind). 2 hrs x 365 days = 730 hrs/year Let's say we do this for 50 years of our lives. 50 x 730 = 36,500 hrs That is 4.1 YEARS of our life - 24/7 - spent on our phones.🤯

When I’m stuck, it’s usually because I lack clarity. I’ve learned the hard way that I don’t find clarity by thinking or trying harder. I find it by stepping away, going outside, and letting go of the problem. There's always a clear next step, however small, the next morning. 🌱

Advanced economies spend a large share of GDP on care expenses (kids & elderly). In India, an average working age woman spends 7 hours daily on unpaid care. If we were to put a price on this - then the level of India’s GDP would be significantly higher.
