In the 25 years pre-devolution the UK Government straightened and bypassed the A9 up to (then) modern standard, dualled 28 miles and built the Kessock, Cromarty, and Dornoch bridges along the road. In the 25 years post devolution the Scottish Government have dualled 11 miles.

Hi @peediepuss I’ve already checked with @cmarieriley and we have no idea what this is… (glasses for size reference) please could you help?

My dad found this skull on a golf course in South Ayrshire and has no idea what it's from. @peediepuss can you or others help, please? It's about 7cm x 4cm.

Does anyone know if Bòrd na Gàidhlig have been asked for their Islands Communities Impact Assessment on the effect of withdrawal of the Gaelic Officers Scheme funding? Nothing on their website. @wodieskodie @sweenyness @RyantheSlav @PadruigMorrison @ConchurOG

SHOUTING THIS FROM THE ROOFTOPS Who wants a Caithness Broch Project *LIMITED EDITION* Whisky? 100 likes and we'll think about it...

One of the most inspiring projects I have seen in H&I, but the sheer graft that went into this by @StrontianCSB alongside @CHTScotland shouldn't be underestimated. Needless to say, it shouldn't have been as hard as it was considering the goal and benefits.

"All we have done is take the somewhat controversial PFI model and turn it into a CFI model where either we don't make any profit or if we do make a profit that stays within the community.”

While I am still in mourning at the lack of @TheBrochProject calendar for 2024 it seems like they might have their work cut out building an actual broch instead. In the place of Caithness landscapes I'm delighted @cmarieriley is doing these, support local artists.

If you would, you can! I’m still deciding which pebble gets pride of monthly place but you can pre-order here for a surprise christinariley.bigcartel.com/product/pre-or… Thank you and please share with anyone who might like one 🌊

Think that's what you'd call a woodland croft 👍

Fantastic to hear @SeamasHCarey on the @LesleyRiddoch podcast with @pforpaddy Seamas's podcast The Reason Why is the best limited series I've ever listened to and raised many of the issues residents of rural Scotland are facing. Funny and thought-provoking in equal measures.
