Our CEO @GlennKelman says buyers are "defying the laws of gravity" by returning to the market at a time when activity usually slows down. He says fewer people are phased by elevated mortgage rates while others are tired of waiting to buy. #realestate cnbc.com/video/2024/11/…

This is why housing permits at recession levels are a concern going out

We do not have an inflation problem now; we have a housing problem, and that's been true for over a year.

This is an email from former US National Gymnastics coach Chris Sommer to @tferriss I printed it out, and it's one of the few things I keep on my desk. The ultimate competitive advantage is having the discipline to keep going when others quit.

Longevity in action. Larry Lewis (shown here at 99!) lived to be 106, and ran 6 miles+ every morning, rain or shine, even at 104. Check out what he says & see his take on what allowed him to maintain such vigor for so long. Respect!

Important teaching from a graphic - As TG go up, HDL-C goes down. But LDL-P (apoB) goes thru the roof (enters high risk zone) at an HDL-C < 40 mg/dL. This explains why the goal of therapy in low HDL-C patients is to aggressively lower apoB (not the futility of increasing HDL-C).…

Fitch says mortgage rates unlikely to fall below 5.0% before the year 2027. Expects 10-year yield to hover around current levels and end 2026 at 3.50%. A 3.50% yield + "the historical average spread of 1.8pp" would result in a 5.30% mortgage rate.
