This storm is going to do more for reducing illness than our leaders have in the last 8 months Nature-based public health
“…we have 22 children who are on a ventilator, who don’t have any underlying medical complexity and who are really ill...” thestar.com/news/canada/20…
The number of children requiring intensive care in Ontario’s hospitals has outpaced the available number of pediatric hospital beds leading to new concerns ahead of respiratory virus season. globalnews.ca/news/9268352/a…
When adult ICUs and EDs were at risk of being overwhelmed, we shut down the world to flatten the curve. When pediatric ICUs and EDs are overwhelmed, public life continues like nothing’s happening. I’d be heartbroken if I wasn’t so angry
Forget what the media tells you. It’s not about right or left. It’s not about freedom or personal choice. It’s simply about saving lives. There are NO pediatric ICU beds left in Ontario. We are running out of children’s penicillin. #BringBackMasks #MaskUpForKids
If you’ve never had to watch a child struggle to breathe then you may not fully understand why the lack of hospital care, fever reducers and antibiotics for children is a big deal. Trust me-it’s a very big deal. Parents and caregivers of littles-we need to get LOUD.
Canadian Premiers demand more federal health funding and they demand it comes without strings. As a Canadian Taxpayer I demand it comes with chains. Massive Titanium Chains. These Premiers can not be trusted.
Surprised we’re not hearing more about this - Why so many toddlers on ventilators: What we’re likely seeing is “immunity robbery,” where COVID infection stealthily hobbles the immune system, even in those who don’t suffer severe illness, like many children archive.ph/2022.11.08-000…
CHEO chief of staff pleads for residents to wear masks to protect children as it deals with surge in care needs ottawacitizen.com/news/local-new…
The Ford/Lecce junta says they won’t cancel the right to strike if the workers promise not to exercise the right to strike. Some olive branch. 🙄🙄🙄
Our Premier @fordnation to #Ontario: I'll give you your rights back if you promise not to use them. #onpoli #onted #GeneralStrikeON #GeneralStrike
#Unifor's Auto Council & IPS Council call on @fordnation to rescind #notwithstandingclause legislation that attacks workers' right to free and fair collective bargaining and the right to strike. #39kIsNotEnough #onpoli @CUPEOntario #canlab unifor.org/news/all-news/…
It's evident that this isn't about "keeping children in school" but Ford and Lecce's willful refusal to pay these vital workers at least a fair wage. The hypocrisy when Lecce states "they will do anything to keep children in school" demonstrates he is not fit for the position.
The approximate annual cost for the raise requested by CUPE is $264m. The $200 per child bribe Lecce recently gave out cost around $365m. The license plate renewal fee brought in approximately $1b each year.
When adult ICUs and hospitals were overwhelmed with COVID, we pulled out all the stops to help. Now when pediatric ICUs and hospitals are overwhelmed with RSV and other viruses, where is the response?
The #CUPEstrong picket line is in full swing circling Princess St., Concession St. and Drayton St. Last night's vote was historic to take away the right to strike.
I'm no COVID hawk but dropping isolation requirements the week before school starts seems extra stupid.
