Humanitarian aid is crucial for civilians fleeing conflicts. It can be a matter of life and death. Parties to conflicts must facilitate its rapid, unimpeded passage and delivery. Millions of people need humanitarian aid, without it, they won't even have the basics for survival.
We can't stop armed conflicts, but we are committed to making a difference for those affected. Even wars have limits! #GC75 #IHL
It’s not just bullets and rockets that cause harm in armed conflicts. Spreading false or misleading information does too, making the work of humanitarians even harder—and it’s the people in need who suffer the most. Read more about what we do in Ukraine: bit.ly/4eDJq36

Good news for the 113 detainees and their families. For many decades now, through visits governed by clearly defined modalities and confidential bilateral dialogue with detaining authorities, we @ICRC provide a critical layer of protection in places of detention.
Today in #Sanaa, #Yemen, 113 conflict-related detainees were unilaterally released. The ICRC assisted the detainees to ensure their release was humane and dignified. Read more here: ms.spr.ly/6016YexPQ

#DRC: with over 100 active armed groups competing and opposing for control over resources and territories, millions of civilians are paying the highest price in North Kivu - read @ICRC_Africa report 👇🏼
Its outrageous to witness the widening gap between humanitarian needs and aid in #Africa. More guns, more lives lost, civilians are bearing the brunt. In #DRC some 7 million are displaced from their homes, 2.5 million of them in North Kivu alone. #EHF2024 icrc.org/en/document/de…
