After the June elections, we warned that there is only one stable majority possible. That majority voted @vonderleyen in July. For the entire Commission, that majority was dropped today. Already the same evening, it becomes clear how unstable it is. A bad week for EU democracy.

Where is climate change in the #GE24 campaign? Decisive action is needed to cut emissions right across the Irish economy and improve resilience to extreme weather. The lifetime of the next government will be critical. Here's why this election matters for climate 👇 #GE2024🇮🇪

Green policies are central to tackling the cost of living crisis. We have put in place several permanent measures to dramatically bring down the costs of childcare, public transport and household energy, for now and into the future. #GreensDeliver #RTEUpfront #LeadersDebate

Our best people go into teaching. Our schools are the centre of our communities. I launched Round 3 of Safe Routes to School at Holy Child NS in Naas, where children and their carers enjoy a safer school run with new footpaths, crossings and bus parking. nationaltransport.ie/news/141-addit…

You know what would really annoy Michael O'Leary? #GreensInGovernment

Invite Michael O’Leary to launch your campaign and odds are he’ll create headline. Now Fine Gael has a teacher problem. #GE24

✅Potshots at teachers ✅Climate denial Michael O’Leary is the last person in the world we should listen to for advice on how to vote. Fine Gael needs to keep billionaires out of Irish politics. #GE24

On Michael O’Leary’s comments, Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman says it’s really sad to see that billionaires “punching down” has become part of Irish politics. He adds that he was shocked to see the reaction it got from the “Fine Gael faithfuls”. ⁦@thejournal_ie

Jill Stein's party is not affiliated with the Global Greens. However, as she brands herself as "Green", we as the European Greens feel obligated to speak out. For anyone who has Greens values, the obvious choice is to support Harris. This is the only way to avoid a Trump win.

Green parties in Europe are calling for Jill Stein to withdraw.   The race for the White House is too close for comfort. We call on her to withdraw from the race & endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States.   Read the full statement here ⬇️ europeangreens.eu/news/us-electi…

The failures of the RSA in a nutshell. It does nothing to provide footpaths, nothing to reduce traffic speed, but it gives the kids high-vis jackets. Because safety is *their* responsibility.

Today, EPP weakened the pro-democratic, pro-EU forces in the European Parliament. Using support of the far right to push through a right-wing agenda for the commissioner hearings. This is the opposite of a cordon sanitaire. We won’t give up the fight for pro-EU majorities.

Delaying #Deforestation regulation is a step backward in the fight against climate change. #EUDR delay puts 80,000 acres of forest at risk daily, fuels 15% of global carbon emissions, breaks trust with our global partners & damages our credibility on climate commitments.
