So twatter now can just straight up take any art you post and use it to help promote AI. There is no option to turn that off its just a thing. Also blocked accounts can still see your shit now so theres literally no point in blocking people (including minors anymore)-to blusky 👍🏻

oh you have ADHD? well we’re gonna constantly treat you like a drug-seeker whenever you try to get help, scold you if you don’t try to get help, and then obliviously wonder why people like you end up so depressed

Stop forcing yo children to eat food they don’t like. You too don’t eat food you don’t like. I will never forget the nights that I spent sitting at the table, crying, throwing up and being forced to eat food I didn’t like. It’s so common we joke about it, but it’s not okay.

we’re cancelling each other over FOOD takes today, post your cancellable FOOD take

even if we could, fuck you for thinking disabled people should just stay home disabled people deserve access to public spaces

Violet Reposted

btw- if everyone who’s immunocompromised or high risk stayed home, your restaurants, healthcare offices, hotels, offices, libraries, grocery stores would not be functioning. at all.

Well said. Covid will be here forever mutating etc. I’m not going to stop living. People who are compromised just stay at home.

"Everyone is autistic." Not with fluorescent lights in nearly every building they're not.

Violet Reposted

Yeah this is ableism. So is saying "Well some homes should be, but not all". Anything that means disabled people have fewer options and therefore a lower likelihood to get a home, is ableist.

New private homes shouldn't have to be wheelchair accessible. Many of the most attractive homes in the country have steps up to the front door, allowing for basements with generous natural light. Building regulations effectively ban building like this any more.

autistic people please remember that even though we share more information than requested as a way of being kind, allistic people generally share more information than requested as a way of asserting dominance. that’s why they get offended and accuse you of breaking a social rule

You're far, far more likely to meet someone who is eligible for benefits but doesn't/can't claim, than you are to meet someone who is "fraudulently" claiming them... You're also far more likely to meet someone who doesn't pay all their taxes...

Violet Reposted

Being autistic is so embarassing. I said a thing and now everyone else just gets to rewrite what I said and back each other up when I say that's not what I meant? and we're going to say it's a communication deficit? and you'll do the same thing with my silence? cool cool cool.

Disabled people don’t owe you productivity. Disabled people don’t owe you silence. Disabled people don’t owe you inspiration. Disabled people owe you nothing.

Anyone getting defensive about this is just waving a red flag. Children should be taught about consent regularly, and ideally from parents and at school. But the abusive parents won't, and many others miss key aspects like naming body parts correctly. Education is safeguarding

Violet Reposted

Because a parent is the most likely person to be the abuser.

Why does my kid need to be taught consent from the schools, when I, as a parent, do it in my home?

fandoms have always been made up of mostly adults/people aged 20+ (like who do you think was organizing PHYSICAL ZINES SENT VIA MAIL for Star Trek in the 60s??) and what has actually ruined fandom is the recent influx of children trying to police how people enjoy fan works online

My current most boomer take is that millennials really did ruin a lot of things. The worst thing they did was validating being part of a "fandom" in your 30s and 40s as normal and not something to be ashamed of

"ADHD and Autism didn't exist when I was younger" Pluto wasn't discovered until 1930, it's existed for about 4.5 billion years.

Violet Reposted

One of the hardest parts of being disabled is dealing with the ppl who are certain your illnesses are your fault. That you aren’t trying hard enough. That you failed. That if they become disabled they will “overcome.” Disability is NOT a moral failing. It happens to everyone.
