I literally just got out of meetings with members of Congress & used the bathroom on my way out. Trans women are women—full stop. We're every bit as "biologically female" as cis women & @SpeakerJohnson's statement doesn't change the fact that women's spaces include trans women.

If you're upset that a child learned that I exist, just wait until you learn that I represent an area that includes an elementary school, a middle school, a high school, AND a university. And in the legislature, I fight for Montanans access to public education every single day.
One wild aspect of elected office is way Republicans use LGBTQ politicians as a confessional booth. Nearly every day in Montana, Republicans would apologize for their votes, tell me they wish the culture war would move on, etc. But rarely would they actually change their vote.
My GOP colleagues, who privately tell me they don't hate LGBTQ+ people, should find the courage to reject the dehumanizing rhetoric. Your silence is deafening.
