Civil servants are furious with Starmer for this attack on them, and feel they’ve kept show on road in difficult circumstances over recent years. “There is a mood that we should pull the plug on him” said one. It is no coincidence therefore that Starmer has just made a statement…

Someone going to tell him about the English King of Scotland?!

My latest Guardian piece. Until I moved to Wales, I never knew how badly it was treated. Working at a journo it became clear that not only is Wales treated like less of a country than Scotland, but that it has come to just accept this poor treatment. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Fraud - “so trivial”

Very sorry to see Louise Haigh go, particularly over something so trivial. She was one of the best-performing ministers and seemed genuinely enthusiastic to implement social-democratic policy. I hope she will eventually return.

Louise Haigh?

So who won yesterday's election? We had one didn't we? After that big petition?

I don’t understand why @Keir_Starmer knew and let a convicted fraudster into cabinet? My understanding is she is not the only Cabinet member to have resigned following an internal company investigation #Labour #Haigh

Such apologist! How would you explain this then? The Times has been told that the company launched an investigation after Haigh said that company mobile phones had been stolen or had gone missing on repeated occasions
