“Kamala went on The View” lmao. So out of touch it’s mind boggling

I could see the discourse around this case switching from health care to deep state surveillance in the next few weeks. What am I missing? Would love to hear yall’s takes so far

Andy Kim had a highly publicized primary with the wife of the Governor who attempted to use every machine trick in the book to get him out of the race. He ended up overperforming Kamala by 5 points

Been thinking a lot about how Bernie absolutely obliterated Biden among Latino voters in the 2020 Nevada caucuses In retrospect perhaps a canary in the coal mine that even Democratic-leaning Latino voters were increasingly not buying what more traditional Democrats were selling

Self declared “normie lib” thinks it’s “based” that Sinema and Manchin just ruined the NLRB board right before trumps in office after a record 4 years for unions to spite people who didn’t vote for Kamala. I wonder why this party is hemorrhaging voters.

You should’ve steadfastly supported Biden and then Harris if this mattered you instead constantly moving the goal posts. The ppl voted for this and they deserve to feel the consequences of their choices. Manchin and sinema are based for this idgaf

One big thing that people forget about Ossoff, who stands to this day as the sole D senate candidate of the Trump era to defeat an elected incumbent Senator in an R-leaning state, is that he made corruption a huge part of his campaign. He called Perdue a crook to his face.

I think we (Democrats) underestimate the extent to which voters perceive the party as corrupt. In Montana, when I talked to Republicans and rural voters Nancy Pelosi’s stock portfolio and pre-pardon Hunter Biden consistently came up as reasons why they couldn’t support Tester.

Probably because no one ran on definitively having a single payer system in which all people would get healthcare. Quite literally was never on the ballot. Party killed that like 4 years ago now.

Why didn’t they vote like it?

We have a great apples-to-apples experiment for assessing this exact question. Look at Medicare FFS, run by CMS, versus Medicare Advantage, run by private insurers. You can do smell tests and navel gaze or you can actually look at the world.

Matt Bruenig is a smart guy, but I think he's pretty obviously wrong here. I added an update to my post!

Instead of listening to Bernie alums on why we did well with many groups of people, folks kept going back to the same old advisors. Healthcare. Education. Jobs. Family. Wasn’t too complex. And a whole lotta of just being human.

Scott has faced primary challenges for years and has managed to cling on due to name recognition in district when it’s clear he probably should be enjoying retirement. He’s had a storied career. Forget his committee positions. It’s time for those to go to someone new.

Scott was just rolled into the vote happening now

This amount is only slightly lower than the current admin costs of Medicare FFS and is very similar to the payer-side admin expenses of other single-payer nations. Read the linked report.

I didn’t have “it’s not my job to educate you” on a shooters manifesto bingo card.

I got the Luigi Mangione manifesto — the real one, not the fake one circulating online. Here it is: kenklippenstein.com/p/luigis-manif…

Not taking corporate pac money alone will do nothing to move the needle amongst American voters without the sincerity of backing up anti corporate policies. Americans are looking for authenticity not jockeying.

The next DNC Chair should absolutely refuse to take corporate PAC money. If we are the party of the working class - and we are - then let’s raise $$ like we mean it.

Stark difference between this and what is happening to Kurdish women in the north. One wonders if HTS and SNA wil have any beef as one seems to be more focused on building a governing coalition, ironically.

Small, but significant detail from this report from Clarissa Ward on the ground in Damascus today. Ward previously wore hijab in reports from rebel Syria. Today she speaks to a Syrian woman, both without hijab, with other women without hijab visible among rebels in the back.
