In Opposition Keir Starmer mocked Boris Johnson for “going cap in hand from dictator to dictator” seeking investment from across the Middle East. He also pledged to end British arms sales to the Saudis. So where is he now? Why in the Middle East going from dictator to dictator,…
UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy told the Commons today that Libya was ‘next door’ to Syria. True. If you count being 1,000 miles apart and separated by Egypt, Israel and Jordan as next door.
How 'diverse' is the British Government? Every single member of the Cabinet owes their career progression to lobby groups, quangos or the civil service. THREAD
Incredible listening to Reeves and her minions yesterday on National Insurance hikes, and threshold cuts. I've been thinking about it. I honestly don't think she knows what she's doing - there is no other explanation. It's that, or she is deliberately trying to bankrupt…
FYI, these two charts illustrate how the #UK has slipped down the #manufacturing #PMI league table since the summer, but also that things are even worse in the #euro area... 🫤 (my takeaway - this is the #Budget, not #Brexit)
On. The. Money. Thank you @afneil for articulating exactly how I feel about @Keir_Starmer and the unbelievable levels of hypocrisy displayed by his @UKLabour government to-date.
ANDREW NEIL: Starmer's chaotic government now resembles nothing more than a hapless bunch of student politicians... with their adolescent posturing, tiresome virtue-signalling, love of freebies and a wilful disregard for facts trib.al/HxI93Wg

“Reeves has bitten off far more than she can chew…I don't know a single person of demonstrable economic expertise anywhere near the top of this government.” Financial markets are “increasingly concerned” about Labour's handling of the economy, @LiamHalligan tells @AfNeil
FYI, Deutsche Bank reckons that the employer's NI hikes in the #Budget could cost 100,000 #jobs (twice the OBR's estimate)... 🫤 cityam.com/budget-tax-hik…
I'm German. 16 years ago, the EU and US economies were neck and neck. Today, the US economy is 50% larger than the entire EU combined. Here's the devastating truth behind Europe's ongoing economic suicide 🧵:
@EssexPoliceUK say it was “unethical” of me to report my awful experience at the hands of two constables. Really? The British people deserve to be informed about the Kafkaesque state of their justice system. Instead of solving frightening crime police are frightening people.

The OBR Review into DEL Forecasts yesterday shows that there was no £22 billion black hole - Rachel Reeves made it up as a pretext for tax rises
You save for your retirement. You die prematurely. Your hard earned pension is all you have to pass onto your partner (who might not have one themselves). And now Labour wants to take nearly half of it. Absolutely disgraceful way to treat the bereaved.
This is painful to watch. Robotic Rachel Reeves is rightly called out for lying to the public before the election, breaking manifesto promises, and her fictional '£22bn black hole'. She's rattled and completely out of her depth. This is an absolute car crash.
Thanks to Rachel Reeves, the OBR forecasts that interest rates and inflation will be going up as a result of this budget. So much for Labour saying they will protect working people. Your mortgage is going up, along with everything else. This is a disaster for working people.
If a government was deliberately trying to wreck the economy it would adopt exactly the same policies as Labour - hike taxes to kill jobs and investment; strangle businesses with red tape; inflate energy and transport costs with the radical green agenda. telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/…
