As @wkamaubell notes, this closing ad from the Trump campaign features the "Blacks for Trump" founder —a former member of a murderous cult who now posts elaborate, unhinged, delusional conspiracy theories at the website on the T-shirt he wears in the ad! theintercept.com/2020/10/19/bla…
It's the people that Make America Great 🇺🇸 Unity 2024
This is funny, but near the end Trump refers to "the fake news" reporters and then complains, "I don't know what it would be like to get good publicity." Deep down he is still the same sad hustler looking for "publicity," not scrutiny of his work as an elected public official.
Trump says there’s no empty seats and the cameraman goes rogue Live fact checks at trump rallies now
"What needs to be challenged is the assumption that voting should be seen a form of individual self-expression rather than as an act to be judged on its likely consequences"—from Noam Chomsky's 2016 case for leftists to cast "lesser evil votes" for Clinton chomsky.info/an-eight-point…
Very grateful for this conversation about Israel-Palestine with @NathanThrall, author of "The Only Language They Understand: Forcing Compromise in Israel and Palestine" and "A Day in the Life of Abed Salama," for the Austrian cultural quarterly Springerin springerin.at/en/2024/3/abst…
3. Trump has a history of holding up print-outs of articles and lying about what they say. I reported on him doing this in 2018 when he was president — and claimed a right-wing newspaper column praising him was a news report about him 'breaking a record' theintercept.com/2018/09/06/tru…
2. The article Trump cited has now been further updated in response to his false claim about what it said when he held it up today:
The article Trump cited an hour ago to support his long-running lie about winning Michigan Man of the Year has already been corrected to remove a Republican official's lie that this happened in 2013. They are willing to rewrite history to match his lies: theoaklandpress.com/2023/05/18/oak…
Trump dug up an old news article to back up his claims about getting a Man of the Year award in Michigan decades ago (this is supposed to be a speech about economic policy)
How many times do we have to report the same thing before it is clear that Trump is what he patently is? He repeats racist ideas so often he challenges the concept of new in news. Here's my 2020 report of his praise for the "bloodlines" of Henry Ford: theintercept.com/2020/05/22/tru…
22 years of being wrong about mass murder bringing peace
It's amazing how little has changed in the US since the Iraq War. The same stupendous lies, the same bizarre fantasies. x.com/HeywoodFloyd10…
Netanyahu's ethnic nationalism, and his belief that military attacks on rival populations are not just permissible but good, came through clearly in his 2002 testimony urging the US to invade Iraq. He presents himself as an authority on the region but is consistently this wrong.
In the 70s, historian Max Hastings interviewed Benjamin Netanyahu extensively, after the the Netanyahu family recruited him to write an official biography of Bibi's brother Yoni. Here Hastings, in his memoirs, recalls Bibi's racism and enthusiasm for total ethnic cleansing:
The father of the Ohio boy killed by the reckless driving of a legal Haitian migrant begged people not to put his son's face, or the driver's, on "the poster of the border security crisis," or exploit the family's loss for political gain. His senator, JD Vance, does exactly that.
In the last several weeks, my office has received many inquiries from actual residents of Springfield who've said their neighbors' pets or local wildlife were abducted by Haitian migrants. It's possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false. Do you know…
On Netanyahu's map, the entire West Bank (including East Jerusalem), where millions of Palestinians have lived under Israeli military occupation for 57 years, has been erased and the whole region outside Gaza is labelled "Israel." He stands by the river and points to the sea.
Israeli PM Netanyahu is giving a speech to the nation: explaining the need for Israel to stay in Philadelphi corridor
Just across the page from Josh Shapiro's terrible op-ed in his college newspaper opposing the Oslo Accords in 1993 was a far better-informed, more humane piece in favor of the peace plan by Rabbi Paul Saiger, the campus Hillel director. Maybe Harris should pick him instead.
Josh Shapiro wrote in his college newspaper that peace “will never come” to the Middle East and expressed skepticism about a two-state solution, describing Palestinians as “too battle-minded” to coexist. A spokesman says his views have changed. inquirer.com/politics/elect…
Netanyahu has been wrongly predicting that Middle East peace can be achieved through military force for decades. "If you take out Saddam," he assured Congress in 2002, "I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region"
Brace yourself for Trump unleashing an ugly campaign of racist birtherism on Harris. As I reported in 2020, he buys a crackpot legal theory, devised by Jan 6 crackpot John Eastman, that Americans like Harris, born to noncitizen immigrants, are not citizens theintercept.com/2020/08/18/tru…
Trump's rally Thursday, where people suffered heat stroke, was at the same Phoenix megachurch where his fans exploded with joy in June 2020 when he made a racist joke about covid-19 being "the kung flu." theintercept.com/2020/06/24/tru…
JUST IN @PHXFire says it's transported a total of 11 people to hospital after reports of heat exhaustion outside Donald Trump rally at church. Temp 106 with 15 minutes to go before rally's 2 pm start.
Trump appeared again on Thursday at the same Phoenix megachurch where he told a racist joke, to wild applause, in 2020. Look who was leading the cheers that day:
This is the same Epoch Times that was invited into the White House briefing by press secretary Kayleigh McEnany in 2020, when she was packing the room with pro-Trump conspiracy theorists to lob him softball questions: theintercept.com/2020/08/15/whi…
This Epoch Times CFO indictment is wild. Feds say Epoch Times had a "Make Money Online" team that funded a huge part of the Falun Gong-affiliated, MAGA outlet's budget through money laundering fraudulent debit cards.
