the return of the Victorias Secret fashion show is the return (or did it ever leave?) of the messaging that disordered bodies that meet unrealistic body standards are the definition of sexy and feminine - we must do better to banish programming like this or have body inclusivity

I grew up being told that secularism was the greatest threat to the survival of true Christianity. Now I believe it is Christians claiming to follow Jesus who said, “love your neighbor as yourself” while openly supporting the politics of hate.

“When pro-Christian starts looking less and less like Christ, somethings gone off the rails” @BethMooreLPM My heart breaks that we’re facing another election with Christians willing to vote for a sexual predator in the name of staying aligned with a political party.

Thank you @alexmorgan13 for bringing soccer to the girls of the world and helping them fall in love with the game! #makewaves #am13

YOU have what you need to heal already within you. A therapist just helps you access it.

How is #timwalzforpresident not trending after we all fell in love with Gus?!

If your Christianity causes you to mock people with disabilities. If your Christianity causes you to mock the genuine expressions of emotion and love. If your Christianity causes you to mock men who cry. Your Christianity has nothing to do with Jesus.

“Seen this movie before….The sequel is usually worse” @BarackObama

PSA: every time you discuss, “joke” about, or warn someone about the “Freshman 15” you are planting diet culture seeds that harm body trust and fuel eating disorders

Do you ever wonder why people are hesitant to talk about their good deeds, acts of kindness, and charitable giving but boldly don’t shut up about what current fad diet they are on and how “well it’s working?”

I don’t know who needs to hear this but: SEEING A THERAPIST IS OKAY

Body trust is not about your body’s workings or appearance but about trusting the writing of your body story, chapter by chapter, even though you cannot see how the story ends

There is GRIEF when we finally surrender to the fact that the pursuit of purposeful weight loss is no longer an option. It grieves the loss of the (false) promise that weight loss will save us

Working through weight and food trauma can help you give your inner child the gift of not continuing the oppressive pattern of whittling your worth down to your size

overthinking and overanalyzing is my cardio

You don’t always have to be able to imagine where the path is taking you, you just have to put one foot in front of the other

What is the most annoying diet culture term that food marketers use and why is it “so good it’s sinful”?

Anger about the internal war in our head is a normal part of the recovery process. It’s ok to feel angry that you have an internal duel between the part that wants to live for self and the part that desires to keep the ED. It is a frustrating, exhausting battle.
