The original article at whitehavennews.co.uk/news/18529562.… includes this gem: “He and eight other students […] are completing a three-year Post graduate degree which will give them the same responsibilities as a junior doctor.” Utterly, utterly deluded.

Your Drs are being stolen from you. Across the NHS, a role taught 2 years of "PA studies” is substituting for Drs trained for 10 to 15 years. This is about cutting training and safety. It is not about care. (Thx @AndrewMeyerson)

It seems incredible to me that a consultant doctor was happy & willing to put all of this on the record… Genuinely, what is the point of a medical degree & postgrad medical training if you can do all of this in far less time without it & be paid more?

Poland has a nice online hydro monitoring system for all locations and all important rivers. That's one of the things that was developed after deadly 1997 floods. With lots of hydro infrastructure since then, hopefully that secures us this time hydro.imgw.pl/#/map?riv=true…

It ever ceases to amaze me The lack of professionalism from PAs on social media: Imagine seeing who you think is a GP, recounting an intimate problem (see pic), getting this advice, then seeing this post on insta from a PA with 2 weeks med experience. See also: Brain pics. 🚫

FY1 doctors can't examine on med students OSCEs, but year 1 PAs can. PAs can work on doctors rotas, doctors can't work on PA rotas. PAs can work across primary care without primary care experience, FY2+ doctors cannot work in GP without primary care experience. Ridiculous

There is one theme that I am 100% FED UP with and makes ZERO sense: 🔹We are to accept that scope of practice for PAs is individual 🔹At the same time for doctors it’s a defined path of progression paved with blood, sweat, tears & debt
