This is how universities should support academic freedom and free speech. It doesn't take training, extensive policies or 'administrative burden'. It simply requires clear, unequivocal support of those threatened with cancellation. Kudos to University of Glasgow.

I’ve just finished lecturing to some of the best first-year students I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in my career to date and checked my email to see this. Life is good.

In 2013, I wrote a book about educational myths. I *didn't* include learning styles. Why? Because even in 2013, so much research had already been published showing they were bunk. Didn't feel worth me going over it all again. It's now 2024. What's in @TheEconomist ?

IOE’s Drama Studio has been renamed Punnett Hall in honour of Margaret Punnett, Vice-Principal of the London Day Training College (LDTC) from 1902-33. The LDTC was established in 1902 before becoming the Institute of Education in 1932. #WeAreIOE
