The national Dying Matters Awareness Week runs from 6 to 10 May at the @TeamQEH and this year the campaign's focus is aiming to encourage people to talk about death and drying as part of a national bid to improve palliative care.

Early palliative care interventions make sense. Why wait until late-stage disease to prioritise comfort & function as well as recovery? Have we frightened ourselves out of referring patients because of our own gatekeeping? 'S/he's not palliative yet...' is an enemy of good care.
