Getting a PhD is amazing because everyone calls you "doctor" but only sarcastically when you mispronounce something

IF- if- Selzer turns out to be right, I will use this example in class to introduce the oldie but goodie by Solon, Haider and Wooldridge- "What are we weighting for?" jstor.org/stable/24735988

**I am not saying the poll is right or wrong** Of note, Selzer uses random digit dialing and weights very little, with a very simple likely voter model that is "are you going to vote?" No education weight. No partisan/2020. This is very different from most pollsters these days.

I would go to battle for Josephine. #SheMeansBusiness

This is the first study to show that selection in utero against male twins declines following favorable ambient exposures, yielding more live male twins births in the population. Really really cool work and implications for male twinning as a gauge of collective optimism!!

Excited to announce our latest publication! Obama's 2008 election was associated with a 4.5% rise in male twin rates among non-Hispanic Black births, signaling reduced fetal loss. Sociopolitical shifts can improve health outcomes! tinyurl.com/5x5fenve

New in @JAMAPediatrics : Inspired by the amazing @alisongemmill , @mf_gallo & I find higher-than-expected infant mortality rates (overall) and markedly higher infant mortality with congenital anomalies following the Dobbs decision, nationally in the US. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamap…

Marie Kondo has been reviewer #2 this entire time!!!!

Amazing 🧵!!! #MasterClass

There's a popular narrative here that says immigrants are destroying Western culture. I'd like to assert the opposite: immigrants are not only contributing to Western culture, they are often saving parts of it. Let's explore. 🧵

"they have a PhD but no common sense"

It is very difficult for me as an immigrant woman to hear this Presidential debate. The words spoken violate, assault what we have fought for all our life: Dignity. As a hardworking naturalized citizen of the US, I will vote in November for my rights and for my dignity.

It's not everyday that our research is tweeted by a head of state. Sharing a photo from my village fieldwork days as a reminder that this work was a decade in the making, inspired by the everyday struggles of women and children in a country without safe and accessible toilets.

Happy to see research highlighting the impact of efforts like the Swachh Bharat Mission. Access to proper toilets plays a crucial role in reducing infant and child mortality. Clean, safe sanitation has become a game-changer for public health. And, I am glad India has taken the…

🚨New research in @SciReports We find a decline in infant mortality with increased toilet availability following the Swachh Bharat Mission program in India. Work led by @SumaanCh , w/ Soyra Gune, Julie Strominger, @TB_entelechy & myself. Article link: rdcu.be/dSHN8

This is for the folks to whom I (constantly) send funny videos/memes/tweets. You know who you are. And here is the reason why I keep bugging ya! 👇🐧

So apparently the act of sending loved ones little videos and cute pictures and funny things throughout the day is called “Pebbling” because there’s a species of penguin that likes to leave pebbles in their partners’ nests to show they care, and this is my happy thing for today

We could do everything right and yet... This is real. And pervasive.
