Powerful testimony. Gaza. Genocide in plain sight

Gaza, the prelude of the end of humanity. We have been watching a live streamed genocide for 14 months, while our political leaders have clapped hands to it. Never in my life will I get over this horror alternative reality. A never ending black mirror episode.

General election in Ireland today. Don't silence yourself by staying home. Your vote is a civic duty.

Irish General Election today. Whoever you support remember that many people don’t have the luxury to live in a democracy VOTE It’s how you get to decide if you want the same or different

BREAKING: The Scottish government has announced that all pensioners in Scotland will receive a winter heating payment in 2025/26 news.sky.com/story/every-pe…

Having lost both of my parents to cancer I understand some of the thinking behind the assisted dying bill But in a country that is chronically poor at caring for its vulnerable citizens it carries untold risks particularly the risk of coercion ⬇️

#AssistUsToLive Coercion in the context of assisted dying is when someone is pressured or controlled into ending their life: This is an extremely important issue that MP's must consider carefully before they vote on 29th November. Pressure from society Some say that society's…

Rather than mobile phone pocket pouches the @Education_NI Minister should be tackling childhood poverty and food poverty to help level the educational playing field. It's time to ensure that EVERY child at school is ready to learn everyday in the most tangible way.

Schools can now apply to become one of the first to offer a government-backed free breakfast club 🍌 Breakfast clubs are proven to boost attendance and attainment, they break down the barriers to opportunity by boosting work choices for parents and life chances for children.

A crisp early morning start

Housing shortage in Ireland seems to be a regular topic of discussion and it’s a key election issue. But the north has a much bigger problem that is rarely discussed

Ireland Population: 5.38m Social Housing waiting list = 58,000 NI Population: 1.9m Social Housing waiting list = 47,000 🚨 If you can't see the problem facing NI and act now to provide more social & affordable homes, then be prepared for things to get a lot worse.

The panic now- if only you could see the fear, the panic, the traffic, the ambulances, the planes, the flares, the strikes, the sounds, the smells, the drones… Beirut.

2. We haven't actually tried giving proper, joined up support. So let's give it a try, and some time. 3. Why not also try ensuring people can afford food & bills while they look for work, or care for others, or get better. We haven't tried that. 2/3

Dear media, 4 key points keep being ignored in coverage of Get Britain Working/Welfare reform: 1. Stop asking 'where's the stick?' We've had YEARS of stick. Making people ever more scared, hungry, cold & in debt just pushes them further away from work, health & support. 1/3

Our global infrastructure isn’t ready for the scale of climate change that we will see over the next decade alone. More heat in our oceans = more moisture in the atmosphere = more big rainfall events. It’s really not that complicated #ClimateCatastrophe

There's been severe flooding in Chippenham after Storm Bert. Corsham Police say the town centre & Bridge centre roundabout aren't passable after the river Avon bursting its banks. Many of the surrounding roads are also affected.

Paul Kellagher Reposted

To prevent flooding in our communities, we must start in the uplands. Replanting woodlands and restoring peat bogs helps store more water in the landscape, reducing the risk downstream. We can keep building higher flood walls, but working with nature is far more effective.

Very powerful dedication to the women of Gaza

Irish lawyer Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh KC, renowned for her powerful statement while advising South Africa at the ICJ, dedicated her Irish Tatler award to the women of Gaza and Palestine. Credit to Irish Tatler.

As COP 29 closes as another failure to address climate change we see flooding across Europe & huge temperature swings in November alone In Britain climate protesters are serving 5 year sentences but rich landowners can drive Tractors through London without consequence 🤔

🌊🇬🇧 #Pontypridd, South Wales, UK is experiencing massive flooding due to Storm Bert today, November 24, 2024. #StormBert | #WALES | #Flood Source: Telegram
