The true key to keeping players in love with baseball at the youth level is coaching. Bad coaches breed bad experiences, which drives kids away. Good coaches make all the difference.
Employers don’t care what division/sport you played. Who you are is what matters. Do you work hard, love being part of a team, possess leadership skills by serving? Are you kind, open minded? Low maintenance? Employers want people who add value without drama! Are you that person?
Learn to control what you can control. When things aren’t going well for you, can you put that aside, maintain great body language/attitude & still help your team WIN? Call it mental toughness, maturity, being a great teammate or just unselfishness. It’s the ultimate life lesson!
Strength doesn't always come from what you can do. Strength often comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't do!
There’s an evil side to youth sports that’s driven by adult ego, pride, greed and unrealistic expectations. It’s rare to find people/programs that know development, preach it and are committed to it. Many us the word to draw you in but struggle with the patience for it.
Saw this wanted to share: Don’t coach youth sports to try and win as many games as you can, coach youth sports to try and positively influence as many lives as you can
