Norovirus is common, highly infectious, can cause serious and unpleasant illness, closes hospital wards especially over winter and is a risk to care homes. A norovirus vaccine, if effective, would be a major step forward. Thank you to those taking part in and running this trial

An innovative #norovirus vaccine #ClinicalTrial will open across the UK over the next 2 weeks. Despite being one of the most common and infectious causes of diarrhoea & vomiting, there aren't yet any licensed vaccines anywhere in the world 💉 Read more ➡️ nihr.ac.uk/news/uks-first…

38 years ago a woman in Coventry sent a letter to some scientists. That letter went on to be the most important in Alzheimer's research. Last year, I met Carol Jennings, who wrote it. 1/ thetimes.co.uk/article/e78c47…

What an actual legend - women supporting women in science 🤩

Another brilliant fact about Hodgkin (which these guys knew!) is that Dorothy Hodgkin led the call to establish a nursery at Somerville so women academics could continue their research, using her prize money from the Nobel to found the first nursery at the University of Oxford.

Exactly 22 years ago today, my dad died of lung cancer. He was a lifelong smoker. I started smoking myself aged 13 and it took me over 25 years before I eventually quit. I welcome the proposed legislation to create a smokefree generation and end the harms caused by smoking 👇
