"Feedback should make the student work harder than the teacher" - @dylanwiliam really struck a chord in our CPD on Monday. My resource allowed students to reflect on their answer by tearing apart their chosen quotation with specific intentions and the rewrites were phenomenal. 👏

No 27 in my #FavePicturebooks24 is… “Mr Lepron’s Mystery Soup” by #GiovannaZoboli, and #MariachiaraDiGiorgio. It’s a beautifully told story about community,it explores the pressure of capitalism, ultimately it’s a paean to doing the things that make you happy. #PicturebookPage

#1 for #NNFN2024 A brilliant, hilarious and scientifically accurate call to arms to observe, look at and respect nature. You don’t need to travel far to be a scientist.

Always loved #EmilyGravett’s books and this is up there with the best of them. “Bothered by Bugs” is a very funny book about the importance of all the creatures and valuing them. It’s wild and silly and full of amazing detail. Fantastically told and presented. #PicturebookPage

10 Tile Spelling ✍️ Here’s a super quick warmup activity for any literacy lesson. Give a group 10 tiles facedown, have them turn 5 over and they have a minute to spell as many words as they can. Every minute, one more tile flips over until 5 mins is up. #playinupperprimary

During the last academic year, I updated the SPAG PPTs I use in Y6. There’s a couple of curriculum areas still missing, but I’ve uploaded twenty of them in case they’re useful for others. 🔗 drive.google.com/drive/folders/…

Developing vocab as we listen to our class story - I read ahead and pick 5 words each week to focus on daily, with the class listening out for them. Usually verbs and adjectives, avoiding subject specific words. Small steps but that’ll be 45 new words drilled by Christmas

Just received this and it has made my day! So proud of my wonderful friend @emmccatt 🥹 I love everything to do with words so I may be biased, but I’m only a short way in and it’s already full of wisdom and just brilliant sense! Taking epic notes to take back to school ✍️
