Grant Madl concludes his Elk Grove high school wrestling career with All State honors placing 5th at 126 lbs at the IHSA 3A State Championships! The first Elk Grove state place winner in 40 years! Congrats Grant! @GrenAthletics @GrantMadl
With a gritty takedown in the last 11 seconds Grant Madl becomes the first Elk Grove state place winner in 40 years (1984)! Grant won by a 7-6 decision in the quarterfinals and advances to the IHSA 3A semi finals tonight at 7:00pm.

Elk Grove Boys Varsity finishes in 6th place as a team. The best team finish in at least the last decade. Schlosser 1st 175, Berkowitz 1st 215, Madl 2nd 126, Tosterud 3rd 165, Milovich 3rd 285, Burt 6th 190. This is the first year since 1993 that EG has had multiple MSL champs!
Dylan Berkowitz is now a 2x MSL Champion and is EG’s first 2x MSL champ since 2008. Dylan also becomes only the 7th 2x MSL champ in EG history!
