Dr. Ibrahim had the honor of completing the 150,000th procedure in our cardiac catheterization lab today. Another milestone reached, weeks before we move to our new state of the art labs! Strong work done over the years by our incredible team. @MoIbrahimMD @aicardio @AmirLotfi9

Recent case of a middle aged pt with HCM Echo performed late morning demonstrated no LVOT obstruction (fasting). Patient returned for consultation following lunch & was noted to have loud, harsh 4/6 SEM. Doppler study was repeated which demonstrated severe LVOT obstruction!

Best question of the day at #CTO2022 as @DrBillLombardi polls the audience on interest in learning about the newest 5th generation stent with a 37% reduction in TVR and MACE and then lets us know we have it already, it’s called intracoronary imaging! #imagefirst

How to check for bleeding after #Impella single-access PCI: pull out 14F sheath, advance 4F sheath, push Perclose knots 🪢 onto 4F sheath, do angiogram👇. I learnt it from @duanepinto Quite useful when you can’t do final angiogram from radial (tall pts, tortuosity, etc).

The future of MCS is one step closer. Looking forward to the trial.

Remdesivir bottomline: 3 randomized trials #COVID Trial 1 (China): No significant benefit Trial 2 (Gilead): No control arm. Can’t say much Trial 3 (NIH): Death rate 8% Remdesivir vs 11.6% placebo Meaning: you would need to treat 28 patients with remdesivir to save one life
