Jose had a cold streak at the wrong time, after playing a ridiculous amount of baseball at 34 years old and at 110% effort. But it cannot be overstated not just how much this guy brought the vibes, but how clutch he was for MONTHS

#2: Jose Iglesias ties the game in the 8th inning of Game 161 with an RBI single (0.80 cWPA%)

Believer!

I am just calling this out to my limited timeline so I have proof…..the Mets are building a monster. If we stay relatively healthy, we’re going to have a top 7 staff and lineup. That team can do anything.

I feel bad for JD, the dude basically saved our season and was a huge part of Vientos having the season he did. He got on base 4 times in 2 games and people are killing him on this app. Pretty shitty for him.

The move was to pinch hit for Iglesias. The dude hasn’t hit a ball hard in forever. Send Winker in to face the righty with 0 outs. Also I am sooooo so so so tired of people clamoring for Jeff McNeil. Him being on this roster was non sensical and a move to assuage his ego.

If this article is to be taken at face value about general staff fatigue, what were we thinking going a pitcher short for Jeff McNeil?

Anyone asking for McNeil is psychotic. He literally had a 3 pitch at bat tonight. Jose hit .337 in the regular season, had better at bats tonight. Stick with the boys. Alvy, I’m a little surprised he’s not even being considered but that’s ok. I trust Carlos.

Lost in an ugly game are going to be some really, really bad low strike calls on the Mets

People aren't going to love this, and not exactly the perfect series for him with the lefties in the Phillies lineup, but with Butto looking shaky and a pen that is probably an arm short......at some point we need to trust this guy

Can we bring this back? This shit goes hard m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymixm6…

One thing that this highlights (from as consummate of a veteran as can be, so I don’t want to hear any bullshit) is the fact the negativity and vibes DOES affect the team. In a moment and night like this, I hope we can all embrace the value of positivity, for a variety of reasons

"You know what, they say we suck, we suck. Let's suck. Let's go suck together. Let's go have fun sucking." J.D. Martinez talks about the Mets blocking out the outside noise and not having pressure on them in the playoffs:

Aw!

Michael Harris II mocked the Mets celebration after the Braves took the lead in the eighth inning of Game 1

If Arizona goes 2-2 and we win 2/3 in Milwaukee, we could forfeit the last 2 games against the Braves, likely send them off to San Diego and stay in Milwaukee. Not the worst scenario.

Yesterday's heartbreaking, inexcusable, season-crushing loss reduced our playoff odds by.........2.5%! Nice

What I saw from the timeline tonight was absolutely pathetic. After all this team has shown through this entire year, one loss on the road unravels everyone’s belief. It’s a shame and there’s no excuse for it. It’s baseball, Arizona just lost 11-0 at HOME and we’re crying.

Would people have felt better if we lost to Wheeler and beat the Braves? Because we’re in the same exact place. It’s one game, we weren’t gonna sweep.
