Top Factor isn’t a ranking. It’s a quality rating. We welcome all journals to join us as number one! cos.io/about/news/new…

Join our conference on Open Science and Reproducibility. Keynote by @lakens and @annemscheel, with @nulliusverbapod live on stage at the record shop / “folkölscafé” (bar) Mono. Does the fake code make you cringe? Then you will love the replication games! URL below.
Interested in replication research? Consider writing a commentary for the next special issue in @Meta_Psy, which will publish critiques of the article "Replication value as a function of citation impact and sample size"! (full call text in image)
Published at Meta Psychology: "We are all less risky and more skillful than our fellow drivers: Successful replication and extension of Svenson (1981)" The result of a fun workshop I ran with the wonderful Linköping Sweden JDM team. More details: 👇🧵
New preprint: "We are all less risky & more skillful than our fellow drivers: Replication & extension of Svenson (1981)" Fun little replication with amazing @jedilab_liu: @linakoppel @DanielVastfjall & @tinghog Preprint: researchgate.net/publication/35… OSF: osf.io/fxpwb/
Your occasional reminder that the peer review process at Meta-Psychology @Meta_Psy is not only the most transparent in the field, it is also the most constructive and civilised. (COI disclosure: I am a member of the Advisory Board and Reproducibility Team at this journal.)
Computational repro checks is probably the most important thing we ( @Luce10101 ) do at Meta-Psychology
Academic journals have responded to the replicability crisis by promoting open science, including through awarding badges, for example for providing open access to data. How well do these badges work? That’s what we tried to find out! doi.org/10.1177/095679… 🧵1/
Pretty happy to be able to update this with an "Out now in @Meta_Psy" open.lnu.se/index.php/meta… I've been worried about measurement reliability issues for a while. But, this reliability heterogeneity thing, it's got me more worried. Especially when we ignore it...
I'm excited to finally share this one. "Exploring reliability heterogeneity with multiverse analyses: Data processing decisions unpredictably influence measurement reliability" All thoughts and feedback welcome! (other than fix titles before arXiv-ing, I can see that 😅)
TIL that for a few hundred dollars you can buy yourself authorship of a peer-reviewed article. There are dozens to choose from. What not buy this as a gift for your parent, significant other, retiring colleague, or cat? schoolandcollegelistings.com/IQ/Ad-Diwaniya…
Our editorial assistant worry about whether your results can be reproduced and not whether you used forbidden words like, like.
Hey native speaker clinical psych tweeps: I could need some help. There is a copy editor (CE) who loves rewriting (final) papers in their entirety, & I've once again encountered that person. For 4 of these edits I'm really not sure & want to understand my mistakes better. 1/7
“Z-curve 2.0: Estimating Replication Rates and Discovery Rates” by @BartosFra is now published in @Meta_Psy! open.lnu.se/index.php/meta…
“Four Failures to Demonstrate that Scarcity Magnifies Preference for Familiarity” by @_stephanoplis is now published in @Meta_Psy! open.lnu.se/index.php/meta…

This is as good time as ever to point out that we welcome qualitative submissions.
New submission @Meta_Psy: “Means to valuable exploration: II. How to explore data to modify existing claims and create new ones” by Höfler et al.(@?). Participate in open peer review here: psyarxiv.com/r5gmy
Hi @Meta_Psy, we discussed the "Evaluating the Replicability of Social Priming Studies" (psyarxiv.com/dwg9v/) manuscript at our @ReproducibiliT meeting, and we summarized our thoughts in an open peer-review. Hope you find it useful! docs.google.com/document/d/1nC…
As editor of an OA journal that desperately wants libraries to send us $$ so we can stop charging APCs, this story makes me 😞. And frustratingly, bc we’re @CollabraOA & not a Nature jrnl, I bet it wouldn’t matter even if our impact factor went up (we’ll get a new one tomorrow).
I found out my university doesn’t subscribe to Nature Human Behaviour, so I asked why. Librarian: because when the journal started in 2017, it was nothing but “Human Behaviour” with the prefix “Nature”, while subscription costs were ten times higher than normal. 1/10 🧵
On several occasions I've asked for rejection decision letters with anonymous reviewers to be made public and forwarded to @Meta_Psy and @CollabraOA only to receive back some baffling responses from respectable editors. Below are a few of those:
Now @FranckRamus about his personal experiences with replication failures in studies on dyslexia, weaving together the two themes of the meeting . 'Here is a picture you never see in a scientific publication'. Impressive and funny talk about resisting pressures to p-hack. #DBfest
Really, really proud of this one, to be honest Tldr: How do we get a better window into reality? By standing on the shoulders of ever growing giants of course! Massive thanks also to the wonderfully constructive reviewers, truly a great journey at @Meta_Psy
“A meta-analytic approach to evaluating the explanatory adequacy of theories” is now published in @Meta_Psy! Corresponding author: Alejandrina Cristia (@?) open.lnu.se/index.php/meta…
