We are currently hiring for a Senior Postdoc in Biotechnology/SynBio, and a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at the University of Oxford to work on an exciting international collaboration developing new technologies to characterise and predict AMR.
*PhD Funding* We are advertising a PhD studentship to work on interdisciplinary challenges in Synthetic Biology, Robotics, and Control/AI! Happy to answer any questions and discuss what we are doing with anyone interested. #synbio eng.ox.ac.uk/study/research…
New #JRSocInterface study investigates control schemes for biomolecular processes with two outputs of interest: ow.ly/iM0U50PqKWL @oxengsci @CompSciOxford
Big congratulations to @ManosAlexis1 for passing his PhD viva last week! It has been a pleasure to examine his work on biocontrollers supervised by @antonis_papach, and it's always nice to be in Oxford!
Great work by @St_Anastassov, @MauriceFilo, and @Ch_Hs_Chang showing how to engineer high dynamic-range integral feedback controllers using inteins to achieve robust perfect adaptation in mammalian cells!
Check out our work in the @KhammashLab on building #integral controllers genetically with split #inteins! (Play the video with sound on for an animation of a genetic circuit!) nature.com/articles/s4146… Special thanks to my coauthors @St_Anastassov, @Ch_Hs_Chang & @KhammashLab 1/5
Our paper on dichotomous feedback, which is a signal sequestration-based mechanism for implementing negative feedback in synthetic Biology is now out. @ManosAlexis1 @synbioCDT @oxengsci

If Holly (Ilex aquifolium) finds its leaves are being nibbled by deer, it switches genes on to make them spiky when they regrow. So on taller Holly trees, the upper leaves (which are out of reach) have smooth edges, while the lower leaves are prickly 🤙
Here js our latest preprint on a different way of implementing biofeedback control!
