Just read the synopsis of Battersea Girl ....and the period roughly covers the life span of my Nan..Sarf Lundun - Brockley and The Elephant (where I'm from)..so tomorrow I will buy the book and hopefully better understand Nan's life too. Ta.

My lovely, sweet Mum on her wedding day. Some more lovely Mums in there. Next to her is her Mum Kitty, & far left is my grandmother, Nell, Battersea Girl. A few years earlier she had been ready with that enormous handbag to swing it & batter invading Germans. #MotheringSunday

Just finished Battersea Girl. Fantastic read about the streets I grew up on. Even had a tear once or twice.

This is most likely the last picture of Mick Greenaway. Taken at the Old Father Thames, Lambeth at the Hoolifan book launch he is with David (Dog) Collis. Note the heavy coat. Mick died weeks later. Punky Al counted him down for his final Zigger Zagger. Thanks to @CFCCath

Thanks to everybody that came to the launch of @JoeEnglandBooks ‘Lone Moor Road.’ John King (The Football Factory) described the night as “Proper people who believe in what they’re doing, the power of the small-press underground.” 5767.co.uk/product/lone-m…

Seen his son Gaz’s band ‘The Trojans’ a few times, the last time being with (I think) @MartinKnight_, @PaulHearne9 & John King at the St Moritz, Wardour Street after a ‘The Football Factory’ event - might have been the press screening
