Fun fact: Ulysses Bloodstone was created by @LenWein @marvwolfman and John Warner and intended to be a continuing feature in WHERE MONSTERS DWELL, but the book was canceled by then. Interesting timing, for those who are aware.
10/7/69: It was 53 years ago today the flood of Marvel 70s horror reprint books began with the trickle that was WHERE MONSTERS DWELL #1, exposing a new generation of readers to Kirby/Ditko/Heck creatures of a decade earlier. Marvel would publish more than a dozen such titles.

50 years ago today, #SwampThing #1, which updated and expanded the short story @LenWein and @BernieWrightson did in 1970, appeared on news stands. DC Comics will issue a prestige edition of Len and Bernie’s run next year. Len later returned to the title with @kelleyjonesart
Saddle Up and Read and Horse Girl Gooch @theblackcowgirl are looking for a van to carry her mini-horse Man Man to programs she gives. She’s got a grant, but could use a lead (she’s in North Carolina) and probably could use more tax-deductible contributions toward it (501c3.)
Steadily looking for a transit van for Man Man. @saddleupandread has been awarded a $5k grant from Puffin to go towards the van. A new or very low mileage van would be ideal to convert into his transportation.

I suppose the late @LenWein creator of Swamp Thing & Wolverine. TBH, was honored to call him friend. I'd give up 99% of my other followers to have him back.
Three years ago today, @LenWein died after a life-long struggle with many diseases. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss him, but I am grateful he did not have to deal with Covid-19. I hope he was right that 45 will get what’s coming to him & good guys will prevail.
I was reading about Alan Moore yesterday and Len was mentioned. And I thought of you.
