Prof. Matthew Boygo, expert in chemical proteomics, to give plenary talk at MCCB 2025! Don't miss this chance to learn from a visionary. 🔗 bit.ly/4hb6pEl #RACI #ozchem #BOD1640
I am happy to share a another manuscript by @BangyanXu, a fun collaboration with Simon and @Thompson_Chem We report some new sulfoxonium ylide activity-based probes for cysteine cathepsins. Check it out! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
It's been a big week for this proud supervisor. I am so pleased to announce that @alex_ziegler8 has been awarded the Bill Sawyer Medal, which recognises outstanding achievements of Graduate Researchers in the Dept of Biochem & Pharm. Alex has had a great year and is so deserving!
Super proud of Francesca for delivering an excellent final presentation about her 3rd year project in the #LEMLab. Her actual N-terminomics data matched the quality of her cake! Quite a feat!
We are hiring! Join @VerdoesLab at the @LUMC_Leiden Immunology department to apply chemistry to pioneer the next generation cancer vaccines: linkedin.com/posts/oncode-a…
Happy to share the latest from #LEMLab's @alex_ziegler8 and @bethandersonau in collab with @RLatorre_Dr, @Nick_E_Scott and @dufourlab We show that legumain is activated during colitis and identify protease substrates in naive and inflamed colon. doi.org/10.1002/jcp.31…
Excited to welcome Stephanie as a new graduate researcher in the #LEMLab. Thanks @ajodonoghue for the recommendation 😀
#LEMLab battled @DrElenaSF in the departmental bakeoff earlier this week. A fabulous spread of protease-themed delights: N-terminomics cake, fluorescence-guided surgery cupcakes, ABP tiramisu, ponceau-stained membranes, red bean rice nuclei, and pH-responsive dyes. What talent!
This is one of the coolest papers I've ever seen. Degranulating mast cells trap neutrophils inside them. After 12 hours, the neutrophils start to die and the MCs release their contents. Coined nexocytosis, this boosts MC fitness and increases the pro-inflammatory response. Crazy!
Now online! Neutrophil trapping and nexocytosis, mast cell-mediated processes for inflammatory signal relay dlvr.it/TBRsZ7
My lab has an open post-doc position in Organic Synthesis & Chemical Biology with a focus on membrane proteins in synapses. Apply before the end of August 2024. See: kuleuven.be/personeel/jobs…
🥳 We are excited to share our most recent paper, ‘Spatial resolution of the head and neck cancer tumor microenvironment to identify tumor and stromal features associated with therapy response’ doi.org/10.1111/imcb.1…. Let's dive into the key highlights! [1/9]
I'm happy to share the latest issue of QuickCuts, the newsletter for the International Proteolysis Society @IntProtSoc The issue is dedicated to Prof Bonnie Sloan, who was a co-founder of the IPS and a mentor and friend to so many in our community. protease.org/_files/ugd/b65…
So excited for the high school program that we are hosting @bmh2024Melb featuring a fabulous public lecture about the future of biotechnology and scientific careers and a behind the scenes tour of the Congress. Please share with all the high schoolers in your networks! @UniMelb
High School Holiday Program in Biomolecular Science. Join us on Sept 25 @bmh2024Melb @MCEC Public lecture and a behind the scenes Congress Exhibition Tour. Collaborating with #GTAC. Free Registration; but limited numbers. Deadline Aug 31, 2024. gtac.edu.au/biomolecular20…
Thrilled to share our MultiMap paper is now published online on Science. @ScienceMagazine With @realJimWells, we present a multiscale photocatalytic proximity labeling platform for interactome profiling. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Phase 2 data published in @STS_CTsurgery journal @annalsthorsurg show VGT-309 may help surgeons see difficult-to-find and previously undetected tumors in real-time during #MIS and robotic-assisted surgery. bit.ly/4bNYCIE #TumorVisualization #LungCancer
So excited to welcome 2nd and 3rd year students to the 2024 Dept of Biochemistry & Pharmacology Winter Research Day! @Bio21Institute @UniMelbMDHS @UniMelb @sturalph
I wouldn't normally tweet about a PK/PD paper but this is interesting data. Analysis of exacerbations in bronchiectasis patients treated with Brensocatib in a phase 2 study. Blue: sputum neutrophil elastase became undetectable on treatment, Red it didn't. link.springer.com/content/pdf/10…

Physical location within a cell can influence #BiasedSignaling as much as, if not more so than, the conformation of the receptors involved, according to new work that could inform research into more selective therapies that target #GPCRs. @SciSignal scim.ag/7DU
