#medlibs #canmedlibs I'm the chairing a Task Force looking at aspects of KS (collaborating projects, teaching, consultations), the lack of methodological knowledge across the board + the burden of time involvement by librarians. I'd love to chat with you. DM me and pls rt!

Reporting guidelines are not methodological guidance. They tell you what decisions you need to explain in your paper - but they don't tell you what the most sensible decision would have been!

I'm curious about the ghost authorship claim. This is less than reported in previous studies. I wonder if they asked librarians how many did the search and weren't credited....

More than one-third of Cochrane reviews had gift authors, whereas ghost authorship was rare jclinepi.com/article/S0895-…

Follow the reporting guidelines!

I'm currently on the @EQUATORNetwork #EQPubSchool course. It is brilliant! They teach that research publications should be SIMPLE, CLEAR and COMPLETE with this slide being one of my main take away messages from the day. On to day 2...

👏👍

We need a memorable hashtag when critiquing searches in #knowledge #synthesis. Working on a letter to editors for @bmj_latest to make some recommendations about improving reported searches in support of reviews. That's all. #medlibs #SRsearchfail

We no longer can register scoping review protocols with PROSPERO. These are other venues:

This is clever! 😀

Often in the #ScopingReviews, authors confuse guidance for the conduct of ScRs with the reporting guideline for ScRs. Here's an image which demonstrates the difference. @JBIEBHC @ATricco @petersmdj @CraigSL01

Check it out folks! Our updated methodological guidance for the conduct of scoping reviews is now published in the JBI Evidence Synthesis journal! @Daniellep89 @ZacMunn @petersmdj @lynzalexander journals.lww.com/jbisrir/Abstra…
