Yes, gender is a social construct. Gender roles and expectations are cultural, this is proven anytime we interact with a culture different to our own.
People will confidently say things like “gender is a social construct” as if this had been proven in a lab somewhere. In reality, it’s just something that some feminist writers said. It has as much scientific weight as a poem.
