Let's understand what is exactly going on. The Meiteis live in this tiny valley at the centre, where the capital Imphal lies, surrounded by hills on all sides, which are occupied by the Christian Naga tribes.
The Meitei Hindus are a tribe in Manipur who have been Vaishnavites for a long time. In ancient times, they used to follow Sanamahism, a form of nature worship. Hinduism appealed to them because of their similarities.
