This study by Ogasawara et al. found that rotating back & forth between training for 6 weeks and resting for 3 weeks, for a total 24 weeks, ultimately produced similar muscle growth to training for 24 weeks straight. Very interesting findings ⬇️

Based on this nice study by Nobrega et al., it seems regardless of whether you train with a light load (30%1RM) or heavy load (80%1RM), stopping 1 to 3 reps away from failure was sufficient for muscle growth.

This study by Counts et al. found biceps curls with no load (while maximally squeezing the muscle through a full range of motion) was similarly effective to dumbbell biceps curls for growth. ⬇️
