The SNP put independence front & centre in this election. Nicola Sturgeon (currently in ITV studio btw) wanted it to be a ‘de facto referendum.’ The manifesto said “a vote for the SNP is a vote for independence.” “Independence is on the ballot paper,” said the SNP.
SNP on 30% of the vote. About 70% rejected nationalists. Big victory for the UK in Sturgeon’s “indyref2” the de facto referendum. So that’s two wins for the UK in under ten years.
