GCI emeritus professor Nicole Beauchemin shares the promise of precision medicine to improve outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients.

90% of cancer patients diagnosed at Stage I, survive 5 years past diagnosis. But for Stage IV, this🔻 to <20%. In this context, we need to find better ways to detect – and intercept – cancers earlier. One way to do this? Precision medicine. Learn how ▶️ bit.ly/3SqIzZB

To improve outcomes for melanoma patients, this project led by the GCI and @RIMUHC1's @IanWatsonLab will bring together researchers and patients from across the country to work hand-in-hand and extend the reach of what we can achieve.

🆕🍁 New project deep dive: optimal #immunotherapy conditions in #metastatic #melanoma 🍁🆕 #immunecheckpointinhibitors (ICIs) are used to treat metastatic melanoma patients, but while some patients respond extremely well others do not or develop severe side-effects.
