What's happening world? I just tried the most interesting wine. Ever heard of #Brazin? This was a 2010 #zinfindal. My wine rep friend had this old bottle. 8 yrs old! SO MUCH FLORAL & grain flavor. I would describe it as jasmin rice. So fun! That's what #Wine is all about, right?

I have more #wine to come but I would like to shout out #Raffaldini #Vineyard & #winery in Ronda, #NorthCarolina for treating us so well earlier this weekend. Absolutley one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! Here are some sweet pictures. Xoxo, RachieBaby

Fun fact, texture in white #wine refers to acidity which can feel(on a scale from acidic to neutral)tart, crisp & soft. Texture in red wine refers to tannicity & can be described as astringent, firm & soft. Understanding this is good because you'll be better at finding your favs!

Tasting #wine can be complicated if not done in order. Remember that the initial characteristics are felt in the mouth. Then specific flavors like say strawberry are percieved through the retronasal passage. At first sip try looking for sweetness, texture & body. Hope this helps!

Rule of thumb for serving #wine is, chilled for white and room temp for red. However, because tannins taste more bitter when cold, it's the tannicity which determines a wine's proper serving temp. So lighter reds like #pinot should be served a bit cooler than ones like #cabernet.

Did you know you can tell how sweet your glass of #wine is without even tasting it? It's all about the swirling technique. Just as honey sticks to the side of its bottle, so does sweet wine. So, after swirling check how much residue is left on the glass. More residue=more sugar😘

When it pops too soon.

So excited about #Muirwood #Chardonnay, a new FAVORITE! My opinion is that it's super buttery & smooth, a little oaky, some elegant fruit flavor and bold vanilla. It's pretty dry but addictive. Great paired with pesto chicken or all by itself. #CHEERS to me!👌 @ABCWineCountry

As "grigio" means grey in #Italian, the same goes for "gris" (gree) in #French. The difference is not the #grape variety in this instance but rather a regional/cultural difference. As the story goes, the French refused to have an Italian word on their bottle. 🌍

Did you know that the word "grigio" in #pinotgrigio is #Italian for grey? This is due to the #grape skin's greyish color, that is of course before it is removed for fermentation. That's why white #wine is clear instead of green or red! 🍇🥂 #ItsAllAboutTheGrapeBaby

The color of wine tells us a lot. With age comes complexity. Next time you're viewing your glass, observe the shade. Bright red reveals youth w fruity fresh flavor while an amber reveals deeper personality like wood & spice. Hope this helps next time you're buying a new bottle.💕

Observing the legs(droplets) on your glass of #wine can actually tell you how much alcohol it contains without even reading the label. #Alcohol evaporates faster than water. So after swirling check to see how fast they develop. The faster they form the higher the alcohol content.

Gotta love #wine-on-the-go! #Chardonnay all the way baby. Happy #4thofJulyWeekend all my #winelovers.

Every #wine should be screwtop! I'm glad I found another person who doesn't look down on them.

Think that twist off lids aren't the #classiest choice for #wine buying? Well believe it or not, corks actually add a musty flavor over time while also adding the obvious inconvenience of having to use a bottle opener. Get #TwistOffs instead. It's the new thing.

Not a fan of harsh #redwine? Well one great thing about the #merlot grape is that its skin is thin, meaning that less tannins are produced in the #winemaking process. Tannins are what gives #wine that bitter bite. So, make merlot your new #bestfriend. Xoxo, Rach

Honestly, pinot grigio pairs well with all #food due to the grape's high acidity because it translates to a mineral flavor on the palate. But for some reason I think this #pinot pairs so well with pesto! ...Something you should try on your next #datenight.💋From #Albertoni #wines

The #cork that you just pulled out of that #bottle of #wine, actually comes from a cork forest! Interestingly, over 90% of the world's cork is harvested from cork forests in Portugal. Share this with your friends the next time you're opening up a new bottle. 🥂

So, you want to taste wine like an expert? Here's where to start. #WEtaste enth.to/2GVWIsq

#Wine storing tip: Keeping a bottle for while (especially a red)? Then keep the bottle tilted on its side. This keeps the cork hydrated (because opening a bottle with a dry cork leads to a crumbling cork), and also protects oxygen from seeping in and aging your wine. #NowYouKnow
