Building a bat path that gives you more margin for error. The ability to hit the ball deep while also holding angles forward so we can stay through off-speed pitches.
Training to hold angles is essential for direction. The 3rd base angle is a staple for teaching hitters to have the ability to hit the ball deep and back the baseball up. Keeping front hip/front shoulder in leads to better swing decisions.
Trust your training. Pat Bailey, Giants. Using the All-Star Keyhole mitt to learn to get to the ball side of the ball. Put the brakes on fast!
What stands out to me in this clip is his rhythm. Hitters with good rhythm know where they are getting to. The rhythm has purpose. It contributes to timing and swing characteristics.

Are you starting ur load early enough to get your best swing off? If not, the swing will naturally break down as the brain tries to make up 4 not being in a good position to hit. Many of the best hitters start the loading process at hand break wether that’s a toe tap or leg kick.
