Been winding the day down with a few 2-minute episodes of Bird Note, a couple of times a week. Feels good to hear bits of birdsong & feathery facts. Discovered @BirdNoteRadio during pandemic’s earliest & darkest days (spring 2020 in NYC) and been this podcast’s fan since then🦉🦆

While every bird wears one feather coat, different kinds of feathers — and even different parts of the same feather — can perform various functions: birdnote.org/listen/shows/w… American Robin © Steve Shelasky

Hi.Legendary journalist Bill Moyers published my story about Edward Murrow&Fred Friendly. It's a good story (even if I say so myself) &applies to today esp Jan 6th. Please read&enjoy 'Sometimes to Tell the Truth, You Have to Take a Stand' billmoyers.com/story/sometime… via @BillMoyers

Trying to think of a word that encapsulates the emotions being felt today. Trepidation — comes closest. Tinged with hope and relief, of course. But, still, so much trepidation. Trepidatious jubilation? Jubilant trepidation? Either way, glad today is here.

Beautiful!

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.

Can't stop staring at this. Smitten.

COVID Update July 19: I asked people to send one photograph & a short caption that best summarized their life during the pandemic. Here are a few of them. Feel free to add at the end of the last tweet.

Need a brief and beautiful Sunday diversion on your timeline? 🌤️ The nodding purple and white flowers of the Japanese fan columbine (Aquilegia flabellata 'Blue Angel') are always eye-catchers this time of year in the Rock Garden.

Anyone else feeling irked by the omnipresent overuse of “now more than ever”? 😏I mean, it’s an apt turn of phrase, but is everything either more important or totally meaningless, now more than ever? Feels trite and tired, at this point.

Dreamy breath of fresh air

Pictured here is BBG's Water Garden last week. The garden features a diverse palette of trees, shrubs, ferns, and other plants, a mix of ornamentals and “working plants” that filter water and provide habitat and food for wildlife. #DailyDoseofSpring

Cuteness overload in the photos accompanying this story. And a moving story of survival too... #birds
