How you treat people says everything there is to say about you. It doesn’t matter how smart, accomplished, wealthy or cool you think you are. Strength of character is beyond any measure. Being a good person with a kind heart is what matters most & will benefit you for a lifetime!

Successful people make a lot of mistakes. They learn from them & keep trying until they get it right. They’re DOING while you’re still WAITING. Don’t ever be afraid to make mistakes. The only way to build grit, character & toughness is to try it, make adjustments & try it again!

Wanna be a college athlete? Consider: Mandatory academic requirements, study sessions & team meetings Very few breaks Lots of traveling Continuous Ind. workouts/film sessions/practice Very little free time It’s a high level of commitment/dedication. Be sure it’s what you want!

Players: Stop worrying about the name & what circuit you are in & start focusing on the right fit & what colleges are being put in front of you during live events that can lead to actual scholarships, not just “offers”. Identify/recruit programs. Could you & would you play there?

Kimberly Eckroth Reposted

Understand that just because you can play D1 doesn’t always mean you should. There are a lot of great athletic programs at every level. With so many transfers, go where you are loved, wanted, comfortable & excited. Your athletic career will end; your experience will last forever!

Kimberly Eckroth Reposted

Spend time getting your players to trust you. When they buy in, they’ll give you everything they’ve got. Don’t ever focus on games before you focus on your kids. They need to believe in you first. The games, the score, the commitment/devotion to the team will all grow from there!

Kimberly Eckroth Reposted

Players: Enjoy your HS playing days. There’s nothing like playing in front of a crowd of your community members, friends & family & playing alongside classmates. The sense of community & school pride is unbeatable. Relish it; rejoice in it; respect it. It’s over before you know.

Kimberly Eckroth Reposted

Building a team culture starts with creating practice environments where players have fun while feeling safe enough to explore & make mistakes. That kind of culture becomes successful when their learning & development come first & are structured to meet the needs of every player!

Kimberly Eckroth Reposted

As coaches, forget about being a dictator or controlling players through fear. When we empower, inspire & challenge athletes in a positive environment with freedom of choice & huge loads of variability, we increase their engagement & adaptability which makes them more skillful!
