The median lifespan for a U.S. male is 74 years old. That means you’re middle aged around 37, not 50. And if you adjust for our decreased perception of time as we age (1/age), we are at the mid point around 20-21. You don’t have as much time as you think. Make your move.
The only people with perfect businesses are people who haven’t started yet.
Most people who lose wait to take action until they get a guarantee that it will work, failing to realize that there is no guarantee except that waiting means it never will.
Something I just realized: the future will have AI traffic signals. Maybe finally I won’t have to wait at a light for 2min when it’s 4am and there’s no other traffic because there’s a camera and no brain behind the lights.
You have a bad team because your pain tolerance is low for working over time to wait until you find the right person for the role long term. When you hire fast to fill gaps, your “temporary fixes” become your permanent handicap.
Growth is painful. Stagnation is painful. Decline is painful. Your pain isn’t a problem. It means you’re alive.
The best results happen long after you get bored of doing it.
The best things in life are free. Which means they cost time. Which money can buy.
You only need 3 things to win: The balls to start. The brains to learn. The heart to never give up. And the best thing is, you already have all three.
My favorite way to solve a problem is to decide it’s no longer a problem.
If you cannot explain why you believe what you believe, then it isn’t your belief, it’s someone else’s.
The difference between working hard and working smart at the most basic level is whether you learn and get better.
Saving money won’t make you money, but it will give you the security to think farther out and take bigger risks…which will absolutely make you more money.
If you hire someone, Then ignore what they say. Then tell them what to do. And they do it. And it fails. Then you blame them for not hitting goals. You should be fired. You can’t tell someone what to do then blame them when it doesn’t work.
PSA to boomer business owners: People haven’t gotten lazier. You’re just getting C-players because you haven’t changed your compensation since 1990.
Success doesn’t come from doing 100 things once.
Money can buy happiness. You can also get happiness for free. Money can buy misery. And you can also get misery for free. They’re not mutually exclusive.
Salespeople are paid so well because they’re willing to deal with rejection. They’re able to get socially punched in the face a hundred times a day and still come back for more with a smile.
To win in business, you need to be able to say no without remorse, and hear no without a loss of enthusiasm.
