Planning retrospectively slapped protected building status on it after they bought it. Government is simply admitting nobody would develop a protected building here - even if it was free. You’d have to be mad. Doesn’t say much for investing in the IOM.
Yep: The building was in a terrible state in 2018, that's why the Newson's business was moving out of it, that's why Kelproperties bought it: to redevelop the entire site. It wasn't a registered/heritage building at that time.
This is a disaster and an example of everything that’s wrong on the Isle of Man.
Another example of @IOMGovernment saying one thing and doing another. Decisions like this don’t take the Island forward. So we are now left with a derelict site once again. Planning Committee should be replaced by forward thinking individuals who want to see the IOM progress.

This island cannot continue to live in the past. It needs to regenerate or die. This is not what the youth want, they want/need a vibrant, modern society to live in or they will continue to flee IOM like the proverbial rats off a sinking ship There is no "heritage" argument here
