Like many others I follow on this platform, I am beginning a "winding down" process. My profile will still be here and I will still interact for now, but I will not be posting going forward. There's a link in my bio to my other socials where I will continue to post.

What is your favorite Bible verse? I’ll start. “In this is love: not that we loved God but that God loves us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

I believe abortion is the ending of a human life & wrong. I believe there is a difference between banning abortion & ending abortion. I believe all available, compassionate options should be engaged to reduce & end abortion. That is the definition of pro-life.

🧵 @SkyeJethani is pro-choice. At the 1:36:46 mark of the attached podcast, he says the following: "All that leads me to this place of: a pregnancy is...so powerful and intimate where two people--mother and child--are intimately interdependent... (1/4) youtube.com/watch?v=kfIN-0…

Me, whenever @philvischer said "Darby" in the two @HolyPostPodcast episodes on dispensationalism... 🤣🤣🤣 youtu.be/T5fDvCftYq8

It’s not unloving to say that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. It’s unloving to pretend there are other ways.

Here's a good test of your organization's free speech culture: If you legitimately fear that respectfully sharing good faith disagreements with your firm's dominant ideology will lead to termination, severe social sanction, or other punishment, then the culture is broken.

Religion and faith can harm us. Religion and faith can also heal us. I want to be the type of Christian that helps the world heal not the type that fills the world with hate.

A Sabbath Prayer: Lord, I've done a lot this week. Give me grace to step away from my work. Help me be present to your presence as it shows up in the gifts of rest, food & family. May the next 24 hrs be marked by unhurried delight. Free me from the compulsion to produce. Amen

A proposed test for diagnosing when your politics is threatening to become your religion: If you learn someone shares your faith but not your politics, and you immediately distrust their faith, then your politics might be displacing your religion.

If we abandon Christian character in the midst of a cultural war because we think that love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control is not conducive to helping us win, then we have lost the war already.

Church is the perfect place for imperfect people to meet a perfect God.

It’s really hard to be an agent of reconciliation for the world while you spend your life digging endless culture war trenches.

Christianity doesn’t offer a second chance to succeed. It offers a second Adam, who already did.

I'm grateful Roe is reversed, there are so very many members of the pro-life movement who are among the best folks on earth, yet a darkness still grows on the right. The Dobbs decision lands in a sick culture, and much of the right is helping make it sick. frenchpress.thedispatch.com/p/roe-is-rever…

Our Christian religion is being co-opted for the sake of power and control over our culture. Where Jesus chose to save us by his grace and mercy, Christianity is being used to coerce and control people into conformity. This is what it looks like to take Christ’s name in vain.

Other churches in town are not your competition, they’re your family.

A dependence on guns over a dependence on God demonstrates a profound lack of faith. A love for guns over a love for neighbor demonstrates a profound presence of idolatry.
