Some kids know they want a tattoo as young as 2-3 years old. Early signs include using markers to draw on their arms, repeatedly reaching for a pen placed in front of them, and making the sounds “t-ah,” and/or “t-ouh.” Be an inclusive adult. Tell them about people with tattoos.…
“Aloha” When arguing in federal court in HI in 2020, I had to get permission from the governor to enter his precious state to argue that his silly COVID lockdowns violated the Constitution. I lost. This same state, in real life, has shown how little respect for life its leaders…
Look how Russia left Ukraine. Oh wait, this is how the US left Maui. Meanwhile, Biden is on the beach asking for another $24 billion for Ukraine.
“What does it mean when my nation places a new flag in a position of primacy on the building that houses the president?” you might be saying to yourself
“They’ll accuse the US government of printing money out of thin air, and maybe we do, but we’re the US government.” Mask off.
The commisioner of @SECGov dissents from the @krakenfx enforcement action "fundamental question is whether SEC registration would have been possible" "Using enforcement actions to tell people what the law is in an emerging industry is not an efficient or fair way of regulating"
Regulators singling out business activities should alarm all Americans. It doesn’t matter if it’s cryptoassets, firearms, or any other lawful business, using banking regulators to advance political agendas should not be tolerated. blockworks.co/news/crypto-po…
In Ledger’s 2021 funding round, they brag about how much crypto is stored on Ledger devices. Stop to think: how do they know this? The only way to know is to collect extended public keys. So Ledger Live knows your XPUBs and IP address 🤯
Kraken has always been a great example of what an exchange should be. Now that FTX is gone, I will be making it my primary on-ramp venue. Jesse makes an excellent point here. Exchanges, take note! It would be fabulous if we could make proof of client balances the gold standard.
1/ I said I was going to be more assertive with calling out problems. This is one of them. "Reserves" = assets minus liabilities "Reserves" != list of wallets The Proof of Reserves AUDIT requires cryptographic proof of client balances and wallet control. web.archive.org/web/2017011411…
Well said re: "fractional reserve" BTC
There's an imposter in our midst. Fake bitcoin has a dangerous effect on the real #bitcoin market. Here's an introduction to how the supply of bitcoin is being manipulated and what we can do to fight back. blog.keys.casa/securing-bitco…
If this is really the end for Genesis, this could be more impactful than FTX. FTX hurt liquid funds and consumers. Genesis impacts nearly every company in crypto. Let's dig in.
Proof of reserves by exchanges are important. However, you should never leave assets in someone else’s control. Always take your coins off exchanges and place them into wallets that you control the keys to. This is where crypto really excels!
Our institutions fail us often. FTX put the nail in the coffin. NYT writes glowingly. We now rely on citizen journalism & self custody.
Disgusting complicity on the part of the New York Times. He has ruined countless people's lives by theft and fraud, and NYT is now helping him to delay or evade justice by whitewashing him in their prestigious, influential newspaper. I doubt this is just a mistake on their part.
Disgraceful reporting by the @nytimes on FTX. It portrays SBF as a charitable entrepreneur who went under and does not mention the words fraud, criminal, substance abuse, friends & family Bahamas KYC racket, hack, stolen funds or wiped servers anywhere. archive.ph/mxOh5
First and foremost, I care about clients being made whole. Investors knew what they were getting in to. The deal is sure to draw significant scrutiny. There are a lot of allegations flying around and M&A might pressure a govt move, or look like a convenient 2-for-1 opportunity.
No. We don't play these exotic shell games. I get the benefit (and risks) in DeFi but we're not operating a hedge fund either. Happy to live simply, take a fee for matching trades. Balance sheet is mostly #Bitcoin and some ETH. Still profitable, still hiring, still hodling.
The failure of today’s Election Day chaos is because the GOP failed to pass election reform. We have the solution. And we will be running our bill again next year.
ELI5: The data availability problem. Ever heard "Zk rollups", "Validiums", "Volition", "DAC", "Data availability layer" but not sure what they are? ~15 tweets and you'll know 🧶
How "red-flag" laws work in reality:
Red flag laws allow us to take action when someone who has a gun begins to act erratically. Red flag laws still require due process, and any removal of weapons is temporary.
You cannot still, never have been able to, and never will be able to, "withdraw BTC on other networks". Securing Bitcoin also involves calling out hostile redefinition of Bitcoin.
Binance has temporarily paused #Bitcoin withdrawals on the $BTC network. Meanwhile, you can still withdraw BTC on other networks. This is due to a stuck on-chain transaction. Our team is currently working on a solution and will provide further updates soon.
1/ Understanding the EVM – Simplified You’ve probably heard of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), but if you’re like me find it more than slightly intimidating. Below is my attempt at a basic guide to what it is and how it works:
