When commuters berate climate protesters blocking highways, it's not because they don't care about the climate. It's because FF infrastructure breaks solidarity, clarifying how much work is required to build a working-class climate movement. With the brilliant @ceravenscroft
More people see disruption tactics as necessary for climate action. How can local activists join in without jeopardizing solidarity? trib.al/kcazpph
So proud of everyone who spent years fighting for this! Duke is a union campus!
I could not be more proud of the @dukegradunion fighting for recognition. In response, Duke has challenged the right of grad workers everywhere to unionize. I’m pledging #NoDollars4Duke until they abandon this embarrassing and transparent delay tactic. #LetUsVote
Police killed a forest defender today, someone who loved the forest, someone who fought to protect the earth & its inhabitants. This is why we organize to stop Cop City. And we will. In honor of their life, and the lives of everyone killed and imprisoned by the police.

Was delighted to see @barelifereview's Climate Issue selected as a special notable issue by Best American Essays 2022. It's an excellent issue and I'm grateful to the editors for including my work. barelifereview.square.site/product/tblr-v…
At 5am this morning, striking Academic Workers formed a picket line at a construction site at UC Berkeley and successfully shut it down by talking to the workers from OE, IBEW, and LiUNA. They are honoring our picket line and won't be building today. #Solidarity #UAWonStrike
Just got a notice that @ups deliveries will possibly be impacted during the #ucstrike because “delivery drivers will not cross the picket line of striking academic workers”
I stand in strong solidarity with the 48,000 academic workers at the University of California who are on strike for higher wages, better child care benefits, and expanded paid leave.
Today, everyone knows who's got the power. Now it's time for @UofCalifornia to settle fair contracts with all 48,000 workers who make this University run. @UAWonStrike #FairUCnow fairucnow.org/support
From Vandy to the entire UC system (not to mention Yale, BU, MIT, UChicago, Northwestern, and so many other institutions), grad workers are organizing and getting the goods!
From our current and former GSC prezs: "How would you like to make $40,000 a year? In September, our peers at Duke University received news that their minimum stipends would be raised by 11.4% to approximately $39,000." How did they do it? Organizing!
BREAKING: 48,000 academic workers at the University of California have begun the largest higher education strike in U.S. history. The UC workers, represented by @UAW, are picketing at all 10 UC campuses this morning.

In light of Bret Stephens's conversion from climate skeptic to believer, it's worth pointing out that climate denial has always been a tactical not a sincerely held position for the right. jewishcurrents.org/what-happens-w…
We can call it now. Lula has been elected, and Jair Bolsonaro is the first president in Brazilian history to lose a re-election campaign
Duke grads: check your emails for this week's @DukeGPSG newsletter! GPSG has announced its resolution calling on Duke to refrain from intimidation, retaliation, and harassment like they have done in the past. Read the full text here: gpsg.duke.edu/files/2022/10/…
