At #GeeksUnite2 today. An awesome day learning about mathematical mindset with @joboaler and then a great session learning about alternate ways to teach high school math concepts
A clear way to watch the Earth's temperature changes over the past 137 years. (from historic & @NASA data, via @anttilip)
If we all acted like each day was the first day of school, imagine how engaged our kids would be!
Keep the team-building activities & don’t let the “system” get you down. Act like each day is the first day of school.
This little guy had just about as much energy as all of our hard working teachers. Think we may have needed an additional person to take pics - we were all so engaged that we didn’t have time to snap as many pics as we would have liked.

It’s funny how a simple math clothesline game can be morphed to cover material across the grades. Can’t wait to see Div 1 in action with this - their enthusiasm on the topic was inspiring!

Great job to all, for pulling these pieces together to create wonderful hands on lessons!

It was a wonderfully busy day. May seem odd to post a frog pic at a math workshop - but to me collaboration is all about connections and it was one of those odd moments having a colleague finding a baby frog and sharing the joy of the tiny creature.
I can’t say enough about the wonderful teachers we have in our division. This past week we had 39 teachers come back early to collaborate and make math resources that we all will benefit from. Great job!
Thank you @tracycasselman1 , @Carly_JNLPS , and @NLSD69 for a wonderful week of collaboration, creativity, and purposeful preparation. I had a great time networking with so many awesome math teachers throughout the division! #NLPSMathKits
Another wonderful way to infuse technology. I’d love to use this with students during research projects.

Gearing up for #PBL and #DeeperLearning planning with teachers. When we think big and begin with the why, we get results.
Great article for teachers who want to move to a student centered classroom.
I love this article from Steven C. Reinhart about teacher moves in the math classroom that help get kids doing more of the communicating (instead of the teacher). bit.ly/2DU3Za9
