🚨Publication Alert🚨 How do Latinx families respond to @PCIT_Inc? How do their culturally bounded caregiving practices influence PCIT skill acquisition and graduation rates? Does PCIT need to be culturally adapted for Latinx caregivers? A 🧵: tinyurl.com/jccapgramose
PhD Mentorship Programs 🧵: Applying to graduate school in psychology is a highly personal process, and in my opinion, no amount of resources can replace 1:1 #mentorship. Luckily, there are several ongoing programs for students seeking this type of support. (1/8)
The featured article in @TheAtlantic, “The Panic Over Smartphones Doesn’t Help Teens,” is by @UCIrvine psychological science Professor @candice_odgers, who uses science to challenge assumptions about adolescents and social media. It's behind a paywall: tinyurl.com/DrOdgers
I have an exceptional mentee (@giovanna_aoc) that just received NSF and no offers for grad school this cycle! They are trying to find a spot. They’re interested in neurodev disorders and neuroimaging (clinical psych PhD) Please reach out to them if you have a spot!
Contrary to popular discourse, social media holds real promise to *support* adolescent mental health—especially for teens facing barriers to accessing treatment. My take in @statnews today! statnews.com/2024/04/01/soc…
New pub alert! Our newest article explored the impact of racial discrimination on the well-being of caregiver-child dyads, and if a mentalizing-focused parenting group would reduce the effects of racism-related and parenting stress! doi.org/10.1017/S09545…

Happy to announce that our systematic review on the effectiveness of current interventions and longitudinal predictors of internalised stigma among LGB has been published in Clinical Psychology Review
frontiersin.org/articles/10.33… Similar to Dr. King's admonition that we not allow the nation to return to business as usual, we urge IS toward a position of resistance against a status quo responsible for the reproduction of inequitable health & distribution of translational benefits.
‼️Call for papers‼️ “Identifying Opportunities and Priorities in Youth Mental Health Disparities Research” onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/2… Pls share! @rianaelyse @jlopresti16 @JanelCubbage @pbaJackson @CraigAnthonyRS
One of my biggest milestones of 2023 - seeing this research evolve from an @NSF GRFP proposal to my master’s thesis and now a published manuscript! Beyond excited to share this work with everyone - doi.org/10.1002/jts.23… Feel free to DM me for the full text!
New in the Journal of Traumatic Stress @WileyPsychology: Dieujuste et al. utilize network analysis to reveal key symptoms of race-based traumatic stress (RBTS) in Black Americans, identifying depression and physical symptoms as central to the experience. ⤵️
Happy “how many more years until you’re done with the PhD program?” day to all who reluctantly celebrate
I'm super proud that my work on digital interventions for racially/ethnically minoritized groups is the most cited paper in @ABCTNOW C&BP! This is a pre-pandemic article, and the clinical/implementation guidelines provided are only becoming more relevant: tinyurl.com/bp8fkexz
Do you supervise doctoral trainees of color? Are you yourself a trainee of color? Share whatever questions you have to be covered by our ABCT panel in November! tinyurl.com/abctpanel #abct2023 @ShirleyBWang @yaramekawi @DrTinaBoisseau @rowanahunt @_akankshadas @DrAmberC
Our paper was published in tBT! Thank you again to all who made this possible. We appreciate you! 🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

‼️Just accepted paper in J. Adolescent Health, by @vmoraringle @jennaysung @caroulston & me: In a mixed-methods study of 211 teens, parents were BY FAR the most common teen-reported barrier to accessing mental health care Parent-centered consent processes can mask youth needs.
So proud of you @A_P_Spears and excited to work with you on this project! Anyone interested in learning more about Page's work? You're in luck, take a look at her awesome #jccapfuturedirections paper, which came out earlier this year: doi.org/10.1080/153744…
This is an example of how ingrained ableism is in society & here it’s coupled w/ ageism. Mobility aids are used by millions of Americans everyday, myself included. Showing people using mobility aids as a negative thing that makes them “incapable” of doing the job harms us all.
If you like more guidance through the steps of a sample size justification for your next study, my Sample Size Justification paper comes with a Shiny app: shiny.ieis.tue.nl/sample_size_ju… Complete the steps, and you can download the justification as a PDF to include in a preregistration.
