There's a reason Christian Nationalism rarely quotes the direct teachings of Jesus. Because His teachings are directly at odds with their worldview.
The people who make $700 an hour have convinced the people who make $25 an hour that the problem is the people who make $7.50 an hour.
When we Christians are more known for our support of presidents than we are for our support of the poor, the immigrant, the marginalized, and the oppressed, that is when we know we are following someone other than Jesus and we have a lot of repenting to do.
3/ Making abortion into such an idol that the Church literally allied itself with a rapist, shows that the American Church has largely forgotten our mission: The Gospel. Culture war is the fast food of Faith. It sometimes tastes ok, but has no nutrition & is slow poison. /ENDS
Never been a time in my life that there was a wider gap between what I've always understood the word "Christian" to mean and what the word now means socially.
My politics are really simple. I just want everyone to have what they need and be free to live according to their own values. I don’t want my religion dictating your lives. I want my religion to teach me how to love you better. Let’s commit to each other and to love.
If you want the Bible to be our "voter guide" when it comes to issues like immigration, military power, and economics, you must deal with the fact that Jesus and the biblical authors make a consistent case for laying down our weapons, turning the other cheek, welcoming…
Voting Republican doesn’t make you a Christian. Voting Democratic doesn’t make you a non-Christian. Voting D doesn’t make you a Christian. Voting R doesn’t make you a non-Christian. What makes someone a Christian is faith in Jesus Christ, and expressing that faith in love.
A Christian voting guide in two verses: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” -Philippians 2:3-4
evangelicals used to ask us “what would jesus do” and now call us woke when we do what jesus would have done
I am a Christian. I believe in the separation of church and state. I believe in democracy. I believe people should be free to live according to their own beliefs. My faith compels me to pursue the common good for all, not control. There are many of us out here.
One of the biggest lies we Christians have come to believe is that the best and most effective way to address the pressing issues of our time is to gain more control over others rather than become more compassionate towards others. This is the opposite of the gospel of Jesus.

I posted this on FB. Not to debate. Just to share my heart. Stirred up a hornets nest. I should have known better. I’m exhausted.
Presidents do not have to be saints, and we hope that a second term for Donald Trump would avoid disaster. But he poses an unacceptable risk to America and the world. If The Economist had a vote, we would cast it for Kamala Harris econ.st/3NKsH2r
“Why don’t you post more against the left?” Both sides have their evils, but there isn’t a massive political movement on the left using Jesus as a mascot to justify demonizing rhetoric and discriminatory policies that contradict Jesus’ teachings. This matters to me as a pastor.
Hats off to the Yankees for an amazing season. Not going to sit here and act like the season was a failure when we made the WS for the first time in 15 years. Build off the momentum from this season and come back and win the whole damn thing. We’ll be back… Thank you @Yankees
“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” - 1 John 4:20
