“You must recognise two important things in Afghanistan: first, the gender apartheid and second, the Hazara Genocide.” — Ahmad Massoud, leader of the Anti-Taliban Resistance Group, speaking at University of Sciences Po in Paris, France #StopHazaraGenocide

This is a welcome news. As a nation, we ought to do more and have the capacity to do so.

The Albanese Government is committed to securing our borders, while maintaining our sense of humanity. With more people displaced worldwide than ever before, we’re stepping up to play our part in the global resettlement effort in a responsible way.

Members of the @HazaraAdvocacy along with other Australian-Afghanistan community representatives and MPs held a press conference today at Parliament House calling on the Australian Govt to implement a range of messures to support people from Afg. Full video in the attached tweet.

A transcript of debate on the Situation of the Hazara in Afghanistan by @paulbristow79, including interventions from @JimShannonMP, @TaiwoOwatemi, and The Minister of State @FCDOGovUK Mr Andrew Mitchell can be viewed here: hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2023-0…

This needs to stop. Amenity's investigation is crucial but the extent of atrocities committed by the Taliban is far more severe and extensive. #StopHazaraGenocide amnesty.ca/activism-guide…

Thank you Senator @NickMcKim for your dedication to advancing human rights and amplifying the Hazara voice in our nation's Parliament. @HazaraAdvocacy look forward to working with you.

An honour to attend the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of the Hazara this week and hear of the great contribution Hazara people are making to our country. As one of the co-chairs I look forward to this great initiative which will magnify Hazara voices in our Parliament.

Thank you @janafavero for your dedication in fighting for a fair go for the refugees and thank you for attending the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of Hazaras group.

A busy 48 hours with disappointing result in the Senate yesterday but there were a few highlights. My take on the past days in Parliament House - bravery of 10 refugee voices whose messages were heard - powerful speeches in support of the bill - parliamentary friends of Hazaras
