Looking forward to this session, too, participating with Dario Fazzi @siculosvevo talking about his new book Smoke on the Water, about ocean incineration of chemicals, @haztravrcc and with @DaveKinkela moderating.
I'll be at #ASEH2024 presenting my book and sharing findings with such great colleagues as @BaptizedinPCBs @haztravrcc and @DaveKinkela, in what's gonna be a terrific session on transnational environmental activism. Feel free to join us if you're around too, I just can't wait!
In his Nobel lecture, President Carter said, “We will not learn to live together in peace by killing each other’s children.” His words resonate today more than ever as the Israel-Hamas conflict enters a new and even more dangerous phase. Full statement: bit.ly/45YVpmG
If you have a chance to check out Dario Fazzi’s Smoke on the Water from @ColumbiaUP, you’ll find it a great read about activism to address an important global environmental concern.
On October 30 I will be talking about my book and how its story connects to Zeeland. If you're in M'burg and want to know more about it, feel free to (register and) come by. Drinks are on us, questions on you!
Glad to see #Sudan highlighted in @CarterCenter piece published in @Newsweek newsweek.com/women-youth-ho…
Check out this important new book by Dario Fazzi, coming soon!
Ok, now the editing's done and proofs are coming. So it's gonna happen. Plus, friends are already sharing it, making me feel honoured and blissful. Of boats, waste, diplomacy, people, and the sea, hoping you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it: cup.columbia.edu/book/smoke-on-…

Thanks to all who added their voices to the campaign to keep the EPA Web Archive alive!
It’s official! The EPA has decided to keep its web archive live at least until July 2023. This is a HUGE victory. Last month we sent an open letter to the EPA, imploring them not to sunset this archive, which provides public access to hundreds of thousands of documents. 1/
🗣️ Historians speak out on why the EPA online archive is a vital public resource that should be preserved (and improved) in this article by EDGI & @EHAC_EDGI’s @ScoutBlum and @egspears for @AHAhistorians Read the article: historians.org/publications-a…

What a tragic loss. Paul Farmer was such an inspiring person. Now, more than ever, we need to carry on his vision of what medicine could be, and his dedication to combatting structural violence to improve the lives and livelihoods of those around the world.
Dr. Paul Farmer, Harvard Medical School professor, anthropologist & founder of Partners in Health, has died at age 62. He started hospitals in Rwanda and Haiti and also helped bring life-saving HIV drugs to the people of Haiti in the early 2000s. n.pr/3p2XviE
