For Male Victims of Domestic Abuse Day I want to highlight the powerful voice of Richard Spencer who in bravely sharing his story shows men there is no shame in seeking support. Domestic abuse affects everyone. #MenYouAreNotAlone #MyWifeMyAbuser is now streaming on Netflix. ⬇️
#MyWifeMyAbuser is a difficult but necessary watch. This doc film not only shines a light for male victims of coercive control, but for children who witness domestic abuse too. Anyone can be a victim. There is support available. There is a life after abuse.

We don't 'create' safe spaces. We create spaces for people to feel safe enough in. When we say 'create' safe spaces we are insisting it is safe. It is an oppressive (power-over) relational dynamic with our client/supervisee. #WorkingWithinDiversity #antioppressivepractice
In wake of Sarah Everard, men were rallied to speak out against male violence. Instead #NotAllMen trended. Here we are again, Gisèle Pelicot’s case is a moment. Many men silent, again. “Everyday” men committed this, everyday men must speak out against it.independent.co.uk/voices/gisele-…

New research shows that harmful rape myths still dominate courtrooms, with victims facing irrelevant questions about their behaviour, clothing, or drinking, and unwarranted attacks on their character. We must change how sexual assault cases are handled and support survivors.…
Why one size doesn’t fit all… @DrRachelHandley meets Professor Myra Hunter to talk about the role of CBT in addressing some of the symptoms of the Menopause, in this @BABCPpodcasts Practice Matters episode. #WorldMenopauseDay ow.ly/5Hnf50TMIf1
Ringing in the Change - Sally Tribe's articles earlier this year helped explain the Menopause to readers of CBT Today magazine. Here, we've put them both online in a single article to share especially for #WorldMenopauseDay ow.ly/QRCm50TNFHm
Family lawyers & judges deal with traumatised individuals yet most have no trauma training. Retired judge, Sir Francis, "I became very aware of the risks of judging a witness by their demeanour." His retirement is a significant loss to the family court. thetimes.com/uk/law/article…
At BABCP, we're committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment where people can thrive and reach their fullest potential. That's why we say that personal pronouns matter. #InternationalPronounsDay ow.ly/y0R950TMlY2
